Yes you did, but I've been busy since been put on redundancy notice so haven't really been in a position to run round chasing other peoples messes. Still, all in the open now and nothing to worry about - hopefully will all be sorted in next few days.

Well, the more you retaliate to people the more "cheek" you'll be getting. The best way for this to go is to get it sorted out, keep davemartin in the loop and ignore everyone else.

In light of the continual digging and namecalling by all parties, we're locking this thread for the moment. When it's unlocked (and it will be, in a couple of days) we expect significant inroads to have been made in terms of naming and shaming the individuals concerned (not aware if this has been done, publicly, yet) and hopefully someone, somewhere will have their money back.

There is still a trusted / untrustworthy sellers list active on the forum. If this crap isn't finally resolved by Monday I will encourage the contact details for either party to be shared with each other and the untrusted sellers list may well get a new name.

Andy, you've gotten dragged into this good and proper, who by isn't clear though it would be helpful if you cleared that up - it'll go a long way toward clearing the air and stop people throwing accusations around.

Also, a spot of perhaps useful advice: I don't know you from Adam and so far your responses have been not merely defensive but aggressive to the point that, were it not a fact that someone's out of pocket over this, I'd have stuck you with a 48h ban to cool off. They're still out of pocket and I think it's fair to say that the mods (and everyone else) have demonstrated a very reasonable amount of patience and restraint where your replies have been concerned, simply because of the ongoing situation. You may think you're justified in kicking off, but I'm sorry, people have a right to an opinion (as you have a right to reply) and where it is apparent that someone is trying to pull a fast one, people will speak their mind. You should remember that you've given little back to the forum in terms of information about what's happening and that lack of information is likely what's getting you the generally negative reception.

People with vested interests may PM any of the mods (believe it or not, we do actually talk about you behind your backs ) if they have a particular issue with this thread being temporarily locked or if the issue has been resolved in full.

From what I understand, the issue isn't resolved. Andy, if this really is a mate / colleague / family member pulling one using your account hen you need to turn that information over to Dave so he can pursue the issue directly through the Police / Garda.

yesterday andy offered me a postal order n was going to post it to me which i said no to as it would only get lost in the post no doubt so i have asked for it to b paid into my paypal account which he has said he will do wednesday/thursday so will wait to see what happens
