If there are two or more computers behind a router in his household or office then the posts will appear from the same IP (the router will have the IP). And its possible, although very very unlikely, that another PC will post on this forum when the IP address is re-released.

Andy - the more you act like that the more people are going to suspect you. The mature thing to do in this situation is to resolve it without inconveniencing the people who have lost money. It's not going to do them much good to lose however much it was plus a ferry/flight to Ireland to get the money back. The more you swear, f and blind your way through this just comes across arrogant and chavvy. Just my 2p

If my mate had done something like this using my details and accounts I'd be raging and made sure I got the money back straight away.

Let's see proof that you were in a+e then shall we, if you want to clear your name no better way to do it

I've been reluctant to get too involved with this, as it's not exactly my place to do so, and I don't really want to make the situation any worse, but if someone found that I'd scammed another person and asked me to contact them, I'm not too sure how obliging I would be?

It's not like you're going to go "Oh, that's awfully bad of me, I do apologise ever-so-much. How would you like me to pay you back?".

I can't see that any scammer would be in contact, but if the case is as claimed, and it had been my photobucket account he'd used to essentially frame me, I would be making bloody sure myself that he sends payment back in whatever way possible in order to clear my name.

I see it from all sides and would give benefit of the doubt (if only for a brief moment), so I appreciate why people are being hostile towards andymcd, but at the same time I think people need to be aware of what they're saying and how what they're saying can make a tricky situation worse.

If payment can somehow be refunded/returned/repaid/whatever to davemartin ASAP by whatever means necessary with the minimum of fuss, that's all that's required. I'm guessing that andymcd must know this person very well, so I'm sure this shouldn't be too much of an issue?
