jayrs :they wont be originals mate, ball joint would of give out long ago on the factory ones
They were replaced with fiesta frenzy ones then the car was kept off road for a few years. The old ones have been re-fitted.

Not alot has changed recently with the Rs, Just the usual fix one thing and 2 more things need fixing
First off i turned back time
Lately i have had brake fluid leaking from the passenger side rear drum. So the whole beam came off, ready for the XR2i one with a Anti roll bar
Old Beam removed...
I so badly want a rear disc conversion after all this poncing around with brake drums
One leaky brake cylinder. This bugger has ruined the matt black paint on the inner of my mondeo alloy wheel. So that needs repainting now.
My old XR2i rear beam - Used a wire brush drill attachment then it gave it a few coats of hammerite and then fitted a replacement bracket on the arb.
New top hats finally made it onto the car.
While the beam was off, i took the opportunity to remove the rear coilovers and try to raise them a little bit. Got them in a vice and still no joy in separating those 2 locking cogs.
These springs are really small compared to the std ones i have in my shed. May have to do a swap soon or get new coilovers...
Lots of swear words took place in between doing all this and that's that. No I'm not ready for ford fair, the car ain't no where near ready and now i have a wheel bearing groaning from the front.

Do you still have the dampers off the car? I don't know what you've tried, but I'd be clamping the body right near the collars, then getting moderate heat onto the collars, nothing extreme at all, then get a drift and a hammer and tap one of the collars in the appropriate direction to separate them. If you have a friend with a drift, get him to tap in the opposite direction. I'm sure they'll come apart with two of you working at them.

They are back on the car at the mo. We cleaned up the threads with a wire brush, soaked them in Wd40 then got them in a vice. Only managed to free the bottom collar. The top one wouldn't budge so we stand defeated.

I got my new QH front wheel bearing today worked out to be £18.50 with vat. Ford wanted near £38.
Hopefully i can get it fitted tomorrow. Also to top it off the brake shoes in the passenger side drum have stuck on. So when i drive the drum gets Really hot...
If i can't get that sorted it won't be going ford fair Sunday
