incidently i will add this point wayne as i will know you will read it, what angers me the most is you explanations/punctuation is terrible. Half the time i dont have a clue what your on about as you dont use commas, full stops, paragraphs and you jump from one subject to the other i did mention this in one of my earlier posts but again you have ignored it. Its hard for people to help if you dont have a clue what the person is saying due to bad description due to bad punctuation.....

I have read the thread from the beginning,although I don't post so often here,I always come in and read,and when I have time try to answer.This forum is a big help,imho,i was new to rs's a couple years ago.I had read about them,ride one of them,but never own one of them.I took the decision to transplant an RS engine from a Fez to my escort and no one could help in the damn country I live...not even Ford!!!ROFL!!!!These guys in here helped me,always willing to help,and even you saw it from your first post.In the end I ended doing electrics in my car on my own,following instructions from here,and mech related after talking to some fellows from in here.I have the car almost 2.5 years now and nothing major troubled me.YOU,on the other hand,bought a heavy modded,fast car,with loads of money spend on it from people in here that new what they were doing,at least till the time it was at their hands.From the time you took it,you find problems all the time,ask for advice,it is given you FOR FREE,people in here willing to help,but you hear nothing.You keep listening a so-called mechanic,who f**cked completely your engine.From your sayings @ least...anyway,my opinion is that you can't handle having a car like that.You can't support it,you don't know what you own man....and it is a pitty,it is a real waste of a nice car...keep in mind that FAST CARS are expensive to run,and you don't even know it.You keep saying that you know from cars,but all the topic shows completely other facts from what you state.Your garage declared to you financial war,and you keep supporting them.At the end your rant was a thank you for all the people tried to help you.That's nice...congrats.People in here,may not be mechanics,but they know sometimes more than mechanics in a garage,and that's because their RS is their passion.You can't understand this...you will never do.You don't have the thinking needed.Sell it to someone who CAN appreciate it and go and buy a Daewoo.Sorry for flying off the handles abit here,but i can't see such a behaviour....

im not even readin all these reply's least got sum more peeps ere anyway yes if u read through not pointin who have gave me s**t when all i ask is info... but end of the day what info was givin was no help was it how can u help or see the problem if u aint there to see it. jay u was a big help at first! but thank's anyway. like ad said just postin stuff aint gunna sove anything. apparently who ever done sump hasnt tighted the bolts up that much i could unloose them my hands so i took the haynes and tightened up the way it shows not too tight kept doing it the way haynes says intill it was tight but not too tight just before its too tight but oil is dripin small amounts out of nesh exhaust under engine. no idear! wasnt doing it before but the chap i had it off said it puts a bit of oil in the exhaust everytime u turn it off but it is smokin now all the time gettin in the car i have kids and thinkin hazard toxic think thats how people kill them selfs with that toxic they most prob say next then turbo has gone...

how can you say it was of no help.......... i told you tappets from the word go, all the other problems followed on from people doing things to the car that wasnt needed and caused you more problems.

how we can help when we dont see it, is simple, its called experiance and knowing what causes what, when things go wrong, BUT, it does require some assistance from the person thats being helped to check things/do things and report back, as i/we cannot physically do it ourselves, and it does become very frustrating when things are not checked or done as asked, and you keep asking what it could be or coming up with random things (without first checking anything), however, when you come back with stuff like, someone said it could be this or that, and we say, no, its not its, X..., then the next thing we know you have had the sump taken off to find the guy was wrong, and we were right, and then have the ordasitcy (sp) to say we were of not help!

you put your self in postion with more problems, sadly for you, on going ones, and then expect further help to try and sort it but again fail to check or do the things that were asked of you, so in this case, we have failed to help you based on the fact you listened to the wrong people and paid the price for it

im sorry you feel we didnt help you, but you should of listened to us from the start.

i do apoligise but seams im havin trouble and people are sayin bad stuffs so i do apoligise... i have tightined up sump as it shows in haynes and now it has stopped leakin well 1 drip but hasnt still dropped so i did it again just before it is too tight not to tight and not too slack... i think the oil was just drippin on the exhaust! time will see fellas sorry again i know u have helped me as much u can nearly looooool i fount a fault which was good to find and bad it happined apparently the wire put on to the battery the live had melted , the reason of it startin badly when too warm no it kicks in better now sorted that and when i kicked her in it tampped like hell and just went away and can only here it with slightly. so only time can tell. the oil pressure is going to 18 psi though on standby when warmed up and on tick over (standby) not sure if this is right or too low pressure what u think guys? but hits around 40/45psi at 3k revs.

btw i think the engine is gunna be brand new this rate! lol im thinkin of putton forged rods init but thats takin sump off once again loooooool anndddddd errrrm i just wanted to fix a thing a time and it just pilled on at once... car has forged pistons init but not rods accordin to ad's he hinted it is set at 200bhp cause of it needed afew bit more mods in engine to sweep it up more.... i bet ur talkin £600+ for sum forged rods?

do dont need anything special to change a cam in a cvh engine, torque wrench is about it, but even argos sell them.

ok georgy i do appoligise no hard feelings? thank's also .. the dam horn isnt workin llama the chap i had car off gave me sum bull dong most prob and said it used to wrk and dosnt well i carnt get it too work but not yet got time to get new oe of them horns yet, this horn though there is two horns the same on top of each other compared to the standard mk3, jay i thought u need to have the sparkplug thing like a gaurge and piston up or somit the % disk i seen vids of them specialist doing it unless it is diff for this car....

without seeing the video i wouldnt like to say, but it sounds like they were using compressed air to push the pistons down to get one up high, which if your doing valve springs at the same time, will be done to stop the vale falling into the bore.

if you changing springs as well as the cam shaft, then you would require a valve spring compressor tool, but there not expensive and halfords sell them i beilve, if not most motor factors will have them or will get them

The tool you mention is for when replacing the valve oil stems,or when replacing valve springs.They pressurize the cylinder and keep the valve in it's place for not to fall in when you remove the collets.
