Re: my si 2.0 project, new runabout xr2i rep si no more :(
im starting to be really enjoying driving the runabout xr2i replica it hasnt broken down for 2 months!!!!!!!!!!
ive down a couple little changes to the car
starting off with the rear pillar covers and as its really a LX it didnt come with any and it looks a bit bare without them, so i took the pillar covers from the si im breaking

its not a bad job but have to drill 2 holes and remove the parcel shelf supports
fully fitted

looks better i think
also i changed the horrible big steering wheel on the runabout and replaced it with a mint si steering wheel which is smaller and used the same airbag as it fits all the same
before

after

it doesnt look much different in the pictures but it sure does feel a lot nicer and more sporty

Re: some new touches to the runabout xr2i replica
bought a few new bits as for the 2 litre, i havent really done much to si since its been sat in the garage (6months now) apart from clean it and slowly get parts for it that need replacing
got a brand new rear anti roll bar bracket
brand new fog light surround
genuine ford headlight protectors
cat exhaust hanger bracket as one of mine snapped
and 2 brand new genuine ford under car heat sheilds to tidy it up underneath
heres a few pics of a couple of the parts

i havent fitted the headlight protectors yet, but i am on the look out of some new genuine ford headlights as it at the moment it has newish pattern ones and they dont line up as good as the proper ones
random pic of my si hiding half underneath car cover

gave the runabout a good clean so i could get some winter pics of it clean and put ford badge back on the boot as well and i forgot to say it also passed its MOT first time 2 weeks ago so im pretty chuffed with it

i do have a few plans for the car next year one is to tidy the bodywork up a bit as the drivers side wing is bent and been filled with filler by the previous owner so will be getting a new wing on it at somepoint

Your runaround is exactly how I always wanted to make mine look - in fact I've had just about everything except a front bumper sitting in my garden for years now! I just can't bring myself to ruining the whole sleeper thing with mine
Yours really is looking great though

Re: my 2.0 si: new mods for the xr2i runabout
i keep on buying more for the runabout
bought some more headrests got a set from a 1.4 and a 1.6 ive put the 1.4 ones in roughly and they look good but im thinking should i put the 1.4 headrests in the rear middle one in the si and one in the white fiesta and have and 1.6 headrests beside it?

i can decide just want to make the most use out of all the headrests i have

also put a mk4 handbrake gaiter
fitted easily i have tidyed it up a bit since the picture
also gave the white runabout a good sort of after winter clean under the rear wheel arches to get that nasty grit off
before

after

ps i know i missed a bit lol
also bought new new parts to fit a front anti roll bar to it once ive scrapped the one im breaking i can put the wishbone carriers on it

one new clamp 2 new bushes and drop links

Re: my 2.0 si: new mods for the xr2i runabout
got an update here on both my fiestas
the si:
finally got the electric mirrors all wired in thanks to mate alex
ive only got the passenger side interior mk3.5 base plate atm, so will have to wait till i get get hold of a drivers side one so have a mk4 one in for now

also put in some white heater surrounds in the si

and bought a few new bits ready for when the headgasket is to be done new 5w30 oil, spark plugs and engine flush and some new bulbs

and a pic of my rs turbo pop outs that will be going in it at some point

the runabout :
decided today to check the sills after the harse winter, and rubbed down the rust passenger side seemed fine but the drivers side rear has 2 little holes

going to get it welded in a few weeks so i slapped some hammerite on it for now

also me and my mate fitted a si rear axle on to it so now has bigger rear drums and a rear anti roll bar....blimey does the roll bar make a difference!

bigger spec drums will be painted up next week

also bought a brand new genuine ford wing for it

main reason why i want a new wing on it is that the drivers side front wing is full of filler and has bent out on the top and doesnt line up right

also gave the wishbones carries from the si i broke up a quick bit of hammerite ready for the front antil roll bar conversion

and also put some white dial surrounds in it too
