Re: M4D RST Fiesta - BEDFORD TRACKDAY PICS
Nothing major major 5th gear sounds like a wheel bearings thats gone.. so its not long for this world.
Im hoping its just a bearing internally or a circlip snapped etc.
Still works perfcetly just a little bit groany in 5th.
Wicked track day though apart from early retirement for fear of not getting home as i drove it up.

Haven't checked this thread for ages. Looking bloody awsome!
Was going to say those Wilwoods would start to show their weaknesses after a proper track trashing. Compbrake use a Brembo caliper don't they?

Well 5 days to go and im ticking off the things to do.

I've just taken the time to read this thread from the beginning and.... WOW! I've seen it in FF obviously and loved it, and to read it from the start following your progress Luke, it makes me all warm inside lol. I will keep a close eye on this thread in the future and hope to see it at a few shows etc in the future.
I'm sure I will say this on behalf of most on this site... thanks for sharing with us.

Matt_fez :Hows progress mate?
Im glad to report all is go go go for the weekend.
Took today off to work on the car at JKM with the following update to report.
The new gearbox was fitted and this was only replaced as there was a slight rumble noise when you backed off the throttle. wanted to have the box stripped incase something was a miss and before it blew up.
The replacement box was from a 17,000 st170 and we needed to strip this to fit the Quaife Diff.
Once fitted all was replaced along with a new set of c.v joints as I only used 2nd hand items originally, these had a little play in them.
All fitted back on the car and it was time to start up to see if it all worked. On first impressions we had an issue the starter made a horrific noise. This was later diagnosed to being slightly out of alignment, slackened the bolts adjusted then re-tightned, click broom! ! !
After deciding to launch my front bumper better then the car a few weeks ago, and nothaving the bumper secured propely, I introduce the resoultion

Once all bolted up and some Ti bolts fitted all was looking good.

Next up was some fun with the boys at JKM and there new mascot Brum!
Over the past few days the replacement brake kit arrived from COMPBRAKE these were fitted up then the brake lines to be made up. I wanted to keep the lines as neat as possible and stop them from rubbing or catching. I then ordered some stainless fitings to suit, these arrived this morning and Jim set to work late this afternoon in making the lines up. Once all fitted a quick bleed of the brakes and we had a nice firm pedal once again.
Oil, water fluids all checked and then a test for brake fluid leaking and a test on the brake machine to show all brakes were working well.

Just got home now shattered, and of to Combe in the morning
Lets hope this weather clears up for Sunday too
