Good work there Dave. Just out of interest how much did that set you back? Also you still going to run the vaux injectors?
I was planning on doing my transplant this week coming but were to busy at work so will have to wait until the following week now.
Keep us posted,
Gareth.

not sure which to use it depends what i find out about these injectors as the vauxhall ones are good for around 200-220 bhp as there the same as beige inj according to that inj chart looked on ebay and these flow 220 cc
got them off a mate thats not using them as were always borrowing parts off each others cars and swaping stuff over! lol (cheers richie_baby
)
but i think theres one on ebay ported with the plate for zetec for 60 quid

There high ohms injectors too so you can use them with fiesta managment, im planning on using them to get mine started and possibly upgrade at a later date, looking good though mate,
How are you going to sort the throttle body out? ive been looking at mine and don't know wether to get a plate welded straight onto the end of the plenum and have it the same place as crazycage and cowie's.

yeah ill prob do that mate chop it off and move it! think i will tap the fuel rail and put a push fit hose on that thenso i can go to my fse and also going to make a plate to weld to my inlet like yours so i can run the frst iscv
i am going to knock a plate up first! might just spot it and drill and tap it on the manual as i need to move the car and this is all thats slowing me down now! bloody cnc is still got loadsa work on! lol

Re: xr2i 2.0L ZT, 1-3 started machining :)
well im getting back into the swing of things today and thought f**k it ill do it all on the manual bridgeport!! hehehe so today i spent ages setting up the machine to do a little job.........

and with the iscv not having a flat back on it i knocked up a spacer too

then i started the inlet adaptor plate

so tomorrow ill start by machining the corners off so the plate will fit the head the machining the 4 slots and 12 drilled and tapped holes to fit the rover inlet too
then ill have to see what mods are needed to fit the inlet !!
lol
hopefully be testing it by this weekend or next depending if i gotta chop off the tb and get another pc welded on!!

xr2i 2.0L ZT, 2/3 slight update :)
well been busy today

going to have to machine a tad off in the morning to clear enginemount! lol but other than that its perfect
i blended the ports with the airtool a little so should flow nicely
couple of questions for the lads who have used this inlet before
well did you drill and tap this bit of plastic for the air temp sensor or bung it and use somewhere else......... here.......

and tho other thing is on the rover fuel rail there is a sensor in the middle any ideas what for? ( forgot it so no picture! lol )
and finaly where should i cut the inlet? i want it after the take off but not sure if thers room or if the bend in the inlet will restrict flow??

so do i cut at the red or green line?
cheers dave

my inlet has that sensor in rail, aint got anything plugged in to it. the air temp sensor i also left as i have gotech which has its one sensor on a wire that is just slid into a boost pipe. i would cut it on red line mate
top work on plate tho mate, you could knock more up and make a little bit of cash on side

i havent got access to an ac-dc tig welder unfortunatly so ill be getting the end welded on unless the wall is thick enough to drill and tap.... id rather keep the ones that are on it to be fair or try and find some screw in ones if possibvle, anyone know where sell them? or ill end up making some!

If you go for the red line mate just make sure you do it far enough back because ive looked at mine and if its not far enough back a silicone elbow coming off the TB will foul the brake servo and just watch you dont go to far back aswell because then the fuel rail is close to the throttle body.
Think im going to chop mine back to the red line this weekend just gotta find somebody who can weld a plate on for me
Good progress though
, If I had access to one of those cutting machines id be making all kinds of shiite just for the sake of it

wow that adapter plate is awsome, top notch work man, i know who to come to if i need something made up now
nah seriosuly impressive mate
little bity of a noobish question, but ive never seen my answer
what do you do about the compression ratio when turbo'ing the zetec, how do you lower it? i dont see everyone replacing there pistons so i figured it aint an assessity

if you look over the thead jony you will see im using 2 focus rs headgaskes and a 2mm decompression plate! not the best way but be good enough to get me started till next year
i have done the chopping today!
and made a plate to weld on etc also ajusted the adaptor plate so it clears the cam sensor this time! lol will have a look at bolting it up tomorrow and seeing what i can get up to! lol pics will be later when cameras charged! lol

ooh good
so your effectively spacing the head from the pistons? making the compression ratio larger?

yeah mate from what i was told should be 8.5.0 ish and standard is about 10.0.0 iirc but cant be sure but the pistons are still weak and now i have 2 headgaskets that could pop! lol but i dont want huge amounts of boost just now was justr easyer to make this inlet work now and 1 less thing to do in the future
