It's only clean because I wrote 'I am a 'conquering device'' on the back of it so he had to clean it off

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - Engine rebuilt, Fitted, Running
Finally got a battery to fill up the tray as ford intended.

The Battery that came with the car. Small halfords item.

as u can see - doesnt quite fit the gap.

Managed to trace down a obsolete motorcraft flat terminal battery brand new. It just needed a slow charge overnight to get it back into shape

The battery size differance. Got a new ford battery cover too

Fitted

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - Engine rebuilt, Fitted, Running
Another few bits purchased to make the car a much nicer place to be

2 brand new door checks
They should get rid of the horrible creaking i currently have on the doors.

Same applies with the tailgate hinges.
My current hinges are badly rusted and creek when open. These hurt the pocket a bit

New wiring retaining clips.
How ford charge £1.20 each for these is just criminal.
These make it a much neater job than dodgy cable ties

bridgend_boy :check straps always make a difference on old cars,

in the engine bay. the alternator wiring is clipped in with these same clips.
They normally go brittle and break when u remove the looms.
They also clip in the front fog light and fan wiring behind the front valance.

The ones fitted between 1989 and 1991 are no longer available
But the old part number goes over to the 1992-1996 parts which are a direct replacement.
So basically mk3.5 items or nothing...
Mk4 items wont fit.
Ford charge around £13 for each door strap.
Ive just finished priming the rear tailgate hinges. Will paint them diamond white followed by lacquer tomorrow at work in a nice heated part of the workshop

Nice one mate. Little things like that make all the difference. It always seems to be little niggles like a creakey door that get on your titts for ages and you never get around to sorting them out.

I know how that feels I waited just over an hour at my local to be told a new air temp sensor would cost me £45 before vat
That was after I spent 10 mins explaining what an xr2i is
Car looks sweet by the, just need to pull my finger out and get my zvh in

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - Running in
I went in a couple of weeks back for the heater relay (the small green one) and not only did it take 30 mins for them to find the part number, it took 6 days to to recieve it and my wallet was 12 quids (with trade) lighter

It's nothing like a Mk3, you need to drop the subframe. I would have thought you could get a more competitive quote than that, though
