as u can see - doesnt quite fit the gap.

Managed to trace down a obsolete motorcraft flat terminal battery brand new. It just needed a slow charge overnight to get it back into shape :)

Another few bits purchased to make the car a much nicer place to be :D

Image

2 brand new door checks
They should get rid of the horrible creaking i currently have on the doors.

Image

Same applies with the tailgate hinges.
My current hinges are badly rusted and creek when open. These hurt the pocket a bit

Image

New wiring retaining clips.
How ford charge £1.20 each for these is just criminal.
These make it a much neater job than dodgy cable ties

in the engine bay. the alternator wiring is clipped in with these same clips.
They normally go brittle and break when u remove the looms.

They also clip in the front fog light and fan wiring behind the front valance. :)

The ones fitted between 1989 and 1991 are no longer available
But the old part number goes over to the 1992-1996 parts which are a direct replacement.

So basically mk3.5 items or nothing... :)
Mk4 items wont fit.

Ford charge around £13 for each door strap.

Ive just finished priming the rear tailgate hinges. Will paint them diamond white followed by lacquer tomorrow at work in a nice heated part of the workshop :D

Nice one mate. Little things like that make all the difference. It always seems to be little niggles like a creakey door that get on your titts for ages and you never get around to sorting them out.

It's nothing like a Mk3, you need to drop the subframe. I would have thought you could get a more competitive quote than that, though :D
