The drive home was fantastic. Wish it was further tbh to get some more running in miles over with. What a difference a new clutch cable and a new clutch make !

Right where to begin....

Another trip to the isle of wight but this time in better weather conditions





On the ferry at 7.30 am saturday morning with the car fully loaded.






Whilst i got to work on removing the old worn out knocking engine etc ....



Jay began to build up the New cvh.



One new ford Sump



New oil pump, water pump, sump , new tensionier fitted



Ford head gasket



Placing the stage 2 head on .










Head fitted and torqued down. New rocker arms , new camshaft, new hydrolic lifters. new engine mount
Fitting the new clutch on the freshly skimmed flywheel.

The painful process of removing the baked on cork rocker gasket .... i must of been doing that for well over a hour while jay just laughed at me

Rob - old engine was knocking on cold start up. Piston slap etc. Camshaft was tappety when warm.

steve - new engine is like a heart transplant. Starts on the button every time. Just purrs nicely. Drives like a new car. Cant wait to get the running in process out the way to really open the taps.

filtra - as said its like a new car. Drives nice and smooth , no juddering or hesitation between gears. I can tell straight away the old lump was tired and worn out. The new clutch cable, new clutch and skimmed flywheel make pulling away 100% better. Rebuilt gear linkage makes it a whole new driving experience.

very nice mate, i know you have gone T3 now , dont suppose you have a T2 downpipe for a magnex do you??

i have a near brand new T3 magnex downpipe for a swap

Thanks fella. Well i am not taking the engine past 4000rpm for the first 800 miles. I am giving it a oil change at 500 miles and then again at 1000.

Cheers guys. I will be taking it back to torque of the devil once the engine has been run in. Want it set up properly and to get a up to date power figure. Im still undecided on the beiges and chip. A -31 actuator may be purchased soon when i up the boost a little more

i would also like to add to this, that the radio of the hi fi in the workshop wasnt working very well so we played CD's, from clarks car........ if i hear queen, faithless, jungle or garage music again within the next 6 months i think im gunna go mad.
dunno about queen, but i wanted to break free from it!

if time had been with us i would of said about doing the bay, but we finished at 8pm saturday, we had a pub to get to

we did have a little mishap though, the crank postion sensor plug broke due to being old and brittle so had to take a trip to the scrappy

then back to the scrappy the following day to get clarks phone, as it fell out his pocket in a car , and yes, it was still there in the car the following morning

Gave it a birthday wash today so out came the camera as it dont stay clean for long










Fitted a 4 inch magnex backbox. Sounds alot more meaty now

ive done 290 so far. I think 800 should be more than enough. But at 500 i will do a oil/filter change then again at 1000.
