The Recaro Fiesta - the rebuild begins
Re: The Recaro Fiesta - NEW T3 Fitted !
Went out in the turbo today. Really impressed how the car drives with a new turbo. Holds boost 100 times better
im still getting minor blue smoke out the back when i floor it in 3rd at around 5000rpm. Would that be the old oil in my exhaust making its way out ??
It still needs a rolling road setup, and i need to work out what psi to run the turbo at. Im thinking of not fitting the 195 chip or beiges just yet and seeing how it goes.

Max M4X WW :They are old and manky!
please excuse maxxxx - he just want my plates to have Rsoc logos on them
edders :they dont make a binbag big enough do they![]()
They certainly dont fella, 6 bin bags in one week. Soon i think they are bringing in wheelie bins round are council so we are limited by the ammount of rubbish they take
Me and adam sorted the turbo blowing today. Took it off once more and replaced the locking washers on the turbo manifold with home made jobbies since fords wasnt open. Hopefully they will do the trick.
Cant wait to get it on the rolling road and get it running perfect once more with the New T3.
Pics to follow soon

Finally got to the bottom of the knocking my car has had for the last 6 months. Replaced lower arms and replaced the bolts with no joy. Turned out the anti roll bar drop links were mullered. Ive seen less play in a bowl of porridge

Those drop links are crap, you only have to hit a pot hole and it's knackered .
Quick power wash behind wheel and it's sorted

Re: The Recaro Fiesta
its gonna take more than a power wash to get the scabby brown rust off fella
Im going to get my wire brush drill bit and give it a once over then rust treat it. Will have to wait for the weather to warm up before i can underseal it properly . . .

Re: The Recaro Fiesta
Engine rebuild time
My cvh has began to make knocking noise upon cold start and you can litterally hear the pistons slapping. Once its warm the brand new tappets are really loud due to the worn camshaft. There is no point me going ahead and fitting my 195 chip with beiges and -31 actuator if the engine is going to wave the white flag anytime soon
I picked up a escort rs turbo engine block as a freebie on friday but its been on a engine stand outside with a black bag over it for the last year. Im hoping i can salvage the crank with a regrind.
pics:

the block just needs a hone and a clean up, then of course drill the hole for the crank position sensor.
Im having no luck with this Rs.

Re: The Recaro Fiesta
you may fine you need over size pistons mate, depends how bad the bores are.
as for that crank, i looked at the pictures to texted me last night, i think the crank is gunna be a scrapper, one of them jounals look a bit too rusty mate.
and if your gunna go new pistons and a rebore, you may as well use the lump thats in the car, i know you need it as a daily driver but you got to look at what engine is going to be best reconned.
get the crank and a block to a engine place and ask them about it, i used a place called jenkins motor engineers (http://www.jenkinsmotorengineers.co.uk/) for my crank regrind, they been going donkies and is up your way-ish
