Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
Yeah the current spacing is really odd and I think actually illegal. I love the Serck font but most people don't realise it's 100% legal.

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
They're from A1plates. I don't know if they'll last too long as they're not acrylic on top, just a clear film. But it's worth a try anyway as they're the only place who make the font.
On their plate creator just choose euro style for the font. They sell them as show plates but they are legal.

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
Plans so far are to get either SI or XR2i bumpers, some nice oem wheels to fill the arches better. And that's about it for now, maybe retrim the headlining and A pillar trims in fake suede cause I'm poor.

Smo :Sod all of that, just stick a big engine in it
Money and insurance both rule that out.

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
That's fair enough
It'd do better as a sleeper in the long run, though... I'd like to be proven wrong but I think you'll have a hard time pulling off XR/RS or Si bumpers in that colour
Like I say, though, I'd like to be proven wrong

2i bumpers would look better, however, my car now has standard bumpers back on and I much prefer it!!

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
I think the SI bumpers would look alright, if they were easier to find and cheaper I'd go for the RS splitters, I just need to hide the manky valances :/ they've had some slightly dodgy looking repairs all round, and to get them looking nice they would have to be replaced. And that's just too expensive for me right now.

I like the front si bumper but I have gone off the rear!! The rs accessory ones would be good for yours!!

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
I suppose I could just wait till summer, where I'll be much more in the mood to spend the day outside on my arse
I could do a fibreglass repair on the valances that would look alright for a while. The Rear arches shouldn't be too hard to tidy up either. The scuttle definitely 100% needs welding before my floorpan rots out from the constant wet.

Okay I've decided I'm going to buy a Mig welder. No point letting someone else do the job when I've gotta learn sometime

Good decision! I'm not the best, but I've saved a fortune by doing a lot of welding myself. My biggest problem is having somewhere to do it; my days of welding in the road are well and truly over!

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
Had a bit of an idea recently, kind of tempted to pick up another dash as they're pretty cheap and have a go at retrimming it in dark grey faux suede on the top half and leather to match the body colour on the bottom half. I think I remember how to use a sewing machine... If that works out alright, do the door cards to match. I like the idea of a lowly pop plus with a plush interior

XR2i wheel is on the way, hope it's smaller! Getting in and out is really not too easy.

Just the 2 spoke one, the 3 spoke wheels were a little pricey, even for a wrecked one.

The two spoke is probably the second best OEM fiesta wheel IMO, good choice. Saw one going for £45 on eBay the other week

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
I really like the 8v ones, I think they're very comfortable to use and give good control. Being chunkier they generally give much better grip, but the total opposite with dry cold hands
I'm keeping my leather 16v one for my new car, but if I had to buy another wheel I'd find it tough to decide which to go for... For an early MK3 like yours, the 8v would probably get my vote.

Re: My 1990 Pop Plus
The main reason for getting it is to make it easier to get in and out! Currently I need to open the door as wide as it'll go, plonk my arse on the seat then try to drag my legs in with the aid of my hands! haha. It takes way too much effort
And that's with the seat as far back as it'll go...
