This isn't a sticky in the guides section. Perhaps it might be a good idea to do so!

you could get a component speaker set and fit some tweeters in the holes.

As long as its a Fiesta door, it will fit. You will have to wire in the electrics though. Make sure you get all the switches and connectors for the windows from the 2i!

alwaysmods2do :Wiring the electric windows:

I will now tell you how to wire up 1 of the electric windows and the same method applies for the other side.

· Hopefully you will have the other side of the plug which attaches onto the side of the motor.

From this there will be 1 blue and 1 green wire. Feed these through the door loom (if you manage to get them through the original rubber grommet thing.....well done!).

i cant find this in the car though or should that come with the door

and about the central locking will i still be able to key lock the door instead of setting the central locking up

Yes you can lock the door with the key still, but the central locking is so easy to wire in you'd be a fool not to!

4 wires

2 Run to the other motor unit.
1 is a earth.
1 is a live.

Easy. (My colours may be wrong in that diagram)

As for that plug, it should still be attached to the motor. If its not, ask where it is, as you will need it!

Would it not be better to take the electrics from the older door and put it into your car doors? If you swap for an early door you will lose the side impact protection bars!?!

So? You have a donor door. Electric window motor is seven bolts. Central locking is three screws. The wiring loom will just need snap-tying in. The difficult part is the manin wiring loom plug coming out of the fuse box which you are going to have to deal with anyway.

It is of course up to you, I just cannot see the point in changing the whole door on each side, having to paint them both and losing some of the your impact safety.

I put an electric pack in my '96 Classic in about three hours using this guide, it isn't that hard.

i need to replace the one door because somebody tried to break into the car and bent it back, the doors im getting are the same colour as my car so the wont need painting, and ive been offered both doors for the less then what it would cost me getting doors withour any electrics in and getting them painted from a scrappie

all i was asking was if i would have all the wiring needed in my car at the moment for the electric windows and whether or not i needed to set the central locking up or not

great guide, fitted drivers side today.
only trouble was drilling out rivets but they came out then i moved drill round a bit.
also unscrewing the window from the regulator was a dam hard job but i had a strong rachet screwdriver which did the job.

do any of u think it will be ok not hooking the electric windows to the ignition? so that means i can use them without the keys?
wont be any kids in car or nething usin them all the time and ive hooked onto permanent live now. stil got passengers side to do but its pissin down.
also i cudnt get it through the door grommet thingy lol! had to pncture holes either side of gromment and thread cable through the outside of gromment but i taped it up good after.

cheers, jammy.
