im not even 20 yet johny and with 3 points and can still easily afford to insure my RS engine  so i dunno what your doing? lol,
and as per the 1.3 conversion i would highly recommend it after having my one with a few little mods, if you want a bit more poke out of it i used the 1.3 block out of a later fiesta as they have dome shaped pistons and then the head off my old 1.3 which increased the CPR to about 13. somin i think from memory along with a port and polished head my uncle done for me and still ran the old single injector inlet and its went very well for a 1.3 i must say, as per the cam you can get a cam for the 1.3 for around £80 IIRC from rally design as i was looking into it before i got the RS lump, if you can do these little things yourself it would be worth it aslong as you keep the cost to a minimum also another idea might be to use the MPI set up out of the later endura all it needs if the ECU from memory and you would probs gain a few ponies through the better inlet design and being able to use a cold air feed or a decent air box as compared to the bin lid most 1.3's come with, and you would gain more accurate fueling so possibly better mpg aswell

and if any1 was concerned with the high CPR i had on my old 1.3 it had a VERY hard life for the year i had it in the car before the RS and the Head gasket never went and was all fine just regular sevicing and keeping an eye on the tappets (what hcs owner doesnt?) and it ran beautifully

if youv got the spare dosh i would recommend the conversion as it is a very easy conversion to do and you would defo notice the difference, i still have my 1.3 ecu and inlet lying around somewhere i think lol, and you can get the engine for pennies nowadays i offered mine out for free when i had it out but no1 wanted it so it went to the scrapyard

lol, well the engine MB used was a 1.3 endura from the mk4/5/ka as he prefered its multipoint injection set up, and like said its a better inlet all together

four branch fast road cam and some port polishing and it went alright, he used to track it, bet it was similar in power to a mk1 xr2

same engine in essence

sweet , its my daily drive though so with engine mods dunno how long it would last and how reliable it would be lol

anyways i want to stick a Turbo lump in the mk3 when it comes to it at a later date :bonkers: or might keep that original and turbo the mk4

Genuine RS fog lights for my RS Accessory front bumper:

Image

Just need the brackets, or get some made up! :-?

Kit is nearly complete now. Just need the side skirts and rear bumper. I dunno wether they had a late spec spoiler with this kit aswell? But if not then I'll just bash on a RST spoiler.

Oh and I have no finally made my mind up for wheel choice. There cheap, there wide, my oh my I've been so blind. My original plans... MK3 BANDED STEEL WHEELS!!!

DEADLINE - BEFORE FORDFAIR.

Ever since I've owned a Mk3 I've always wanted the late spec RS Accessory kit for my car... It's a rare kit and looks fooking awesome when fitted.

Banded steelies was my original idea from the start, as I bought brand new MK3 Steel wheels in silver from this bloke from eBay who sales Genuine Ford parts. I have two new steelies from him, just need another two mint ones then send them off to get them banded. Spray them silver, get decent tyres with abit of stretch, then roll into FordFair low and wide! :Q

Can't wait... Might have 8J on the rear and 7J on the front. 8J will be fine I reckon. The reason why 8J was so wide with the Allycats is because they were RWD offset. Crazzzzyyy!

3lward :exactly my point with the 1.1, why change a winning horse? my 1.1 is brilliant its quiet doesnt burn oil and it goes like a clappers for a 1.1 lol.

im gonna keep my 1.1 till i get a new car something with more modding potential and that doesnt rust, i want a ph1 clio sport next year, my mate had a track one was a absolute brute!.

i had 4 dents alltogether mate, big one on the quarter panel about the size of a melon, and then 3 medium ones on the bootlid all joined.

Mines the same. First fiesta I've had that doesn't burn oil, It goes well too! I was worried that going from an RS1800 to this would be a bit of a shock but its not really bothered me. Everytime I think about doing an engine conversion I think na I'll stick with my 41MPG!

i couldnt be more different :(

ive gone from my "rs1800" to this TD escort, and it feels very slow, it aint bad, when the turbo kicks in its actually got some poke, but im always reminded of what i had, ive always liked my speed, and when its gone i mourn it

41mpg? the carb'd ones that bad? my old 1.3 mk4 had around 50mpg

Seems though if your drive them a granny they hate it and return pants MPG however if you just give it a bit of a beasting it to get up to speed then just slip into a higher gear it loves it.
