Excursion :
Curtis :get some hazard tape wrapped around the door, and write 'women drivers :/' over the door, it'll be good for a laugh

Expect more damage if you do that :)

add your own little twist to it then ;) accidents happen?

New alloys, and final set I'm having. I've decided to keep...

*RARE Borbet Selzar alloys, 15' 7J, going to get some Bridgestones 165/50's for them...

Enjoy:

They look sweet :aviator:

Looks like a much better offset to the others you've had previously, just don't go too mad on the stretch and they will look great.

Best wheels so far, plan to keep them for a while. Winter it'll have some banded steelies, but can't wait to roll on these beauty's for the rest of the summer.

Don't worry, their staying. Getting them refurbed then get some rubber for them, then the cars bodywork needs sorting out. Finally getting things done... Fingers crossed!

I'm back!

My MOT is coming and need some help. I'm in need of any FORD 4x108 alloys or steel wheels that have decent LEGAL tyres on them. Perhaps even if I just borrow them for the MOT, as I can't go to the centre with stretched tyres.

Let me know guys, it would be a BIG help if you could help me out.

Cheers,

James

I thought if it didn't look like the bead was making full contact it wouldn't pass. Looking at the pic above, it don't look like the bead is in full contact... :-?

if the tread is in the arch then its fine im lead to believe, is why people stretch them sometimes just to make it legal

I forgot you guys were testers!

Tobys right about strecthing to make it legal.

I made a point of bringing this up last time i was on a mot refresher course. The VOSA man said just because it was stretched on, the fact it was pumped up and holding pressure suggested it was correctly seated on the rim. Pass and advise of the stretch. simples :Q

Ask them to point it out in the testing manual to show you the method of testing and explain the RFR.
Then if they use the not correctly fitted on the rim jsut say what the VOSA man said to me. If its incorrectly seated then it wouldnt hold pressure.
Dont get into an argument with the tester though. If they still say its a fail just ask for an appeal form, they have to give you one. But then you might get a baxtered of a vosaman

To be honest at our work we get quite alot of modified and classics in so you need to use common sense here and there, which sadly some testers dont.
