Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
ITS ALIVE - well just! got exhaust fitted today, air filter then primed the turbo and charged battery. car fired up in seconds then died....waited a minute and started again and ran with throttle. was sounding a bit rough and lumpy and died when throttle let off then wouldnt start again.
theres a weird noise when trying to start....its like pressurized air hissing out of somewhere but only does it once then engine stops turning over. sounds like a small dumpvalve. not sure where it comes from.
the pipe to map sensor, does that have to come off the take off on the throttle body ( am running fiesta turbo one) ?
also ive got fuel and ignition pots connected to ecu and there not set right which simon from sitech is helping me get right so can get car to his for setup. also the fuel in car is 8 months old, reckon his could be a cause for running rough?
some pics from today.

yeah bit time please it fired, now its just a case of fine tuning to get it running spot on, but i might not bother trying and just take it to tuner and let him do.

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo - its alive!
just whipped the plugs out to have a look at them and there is dry black sooty stuff on them, so i think the fueling is to rich and that 8 month old fuel is doing no favours.
what you think?

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo - its alive!
dont reckon the fuel is effecting it, 8 months is nothing, you could slap a gallon of fresh in if you want but dont think it will make much odds tbh mate, but sounds like deffo over fueling, be alrtight once set up.
this noise, have you checked all vac pipes are connected and no ports are open (spare ones etc)

update - after a phone call to sitech i got some advice on where to look for problem. first thing he said was right, i had mixed up the coil pack wiring. swapped wires over and starts prefect except its only running on 3 cylinders, cylinder 4 isnt sparking, getting a new lead tonight then should all be good

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo - its alive - updated
dave heres some pics of water and boost pipes. the bottom water hose is a fiesta one but i split it up and changed it a bit. top one is 2 samco hoses with a joiner. boost pipe at bottom is two 90 bends with joiner and top one is 2 90 bends with joiner then up to body with another 90. most of hoses were from when i had cvh but the top water hose was one i had from my mk1 fiesta.
some pics as it was such nice day , also got a new lead and its now running on all 4 cylinders. just need to fine tune the fuel pot in and get the ignition right. its not perfect jsut now but its 99% there
, throttle body gasket has failed so got that off now cleaning it up and making new gasket.
also painted rocker cover and boost pipe matt black.
