Fiesta zetec turbo - now for sale!
Re: My Fiesta Turbo - Wastegate and screamer!
its not a perfect seal i think mate, exhaust gas gets passed the smallest of gap. i just shortend my screamer pipe today and its sounding a bit better on idle.
yeah screamer noise is mad on full boost, it sounded ace when i was hitting 23 psi
, then found out from garret that the turbo should only ever take 22psi max! 1psi extra wont kill it, well wont do it much favours.
car will be getting new engine in august, focus rs power

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
its been a long time since i updated anything on my car. i sold off the cvh i had as really wanted zetec turbo. got a blacktop zetec with focus rs forged piston/rods, multi layer head gasket, rover inlet made by crazycage, rover 380cc injectors ( getting some 470cc ones once get some cash) T34 turbo, fiesta turbo throttle body and gotech pro x management.
Car is now ready to be fired up, sent ecu to sitech racing to get base map put on. so just little bits now left to do, bleed oil to turbo, connect a coolent hose then fit new drop links and clean up and bleed brakes.
Also fitted original fiesta turbo seats as want inside looking standard again. also fitted some bonnet catches as old bonnet catch was in the way so it got cut off.

Quality chap. Just read most of the thread good to see you stuck with it after the theiving sh!t heads came along.
Zetec turbos are so cool, I cant wait to fit mine next week. How did you go about mounting the blacktop, as am i correct in thinking the cvh engine mount wont fit it like it does on the silver top??
Should make some very good power on that as well.
Gareth.

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
cheers for all comments.
andy - the suspension is AVO coilovers. there rather stiff just now and having full poly bush kit aswell the car is solid. also got rose jointed bottom arms with adjustable ball joints. needed with the cossy wheels
jay - yeah thats what i thought as there welded all around, but i ended up cutting door off as the pin was stuck solid...it took some smashing with a mallet to remove pin...ended up having to cut the pin in half while still in hinge to get the bits out.
mr black - cheers for comments. yeah little sh!ts breaking in really annoyed me, police annoyed me even more but not giving to sh!ts!
.
i used the cvh mount but had to weld on some new metal to get holes to line up. also have to shave a bit down. it was a good few months ago i did it...should of took some pictures....the belt tensioner is pretty close to the engine mount bracket on wing tho. going to have to shave the bracket back a little. ill be happy with 300bhp but gearbox will crap itself. with some new injectors and arp rod bolts and a better exhaust manifold am wanting between 300 -350
but wait and see what simon at sitech can do. i cant wait!
oh and a 6 speed box will be going in once i save some pennies.

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
jesus, thats not good.
ive had some pins fcuk me about, in fact when the pin seized on my rs and tore the hindge off thw door, we smacked the pin out, welded the hidge back on door to find it 1/4 inch out, had to move the hinges on the door, and when i fitted a new door to drivers side, i had to move the hindge on that door too, so maybe you have beat it about too much

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
its out by about 5mm maybe. i think i need to knock the hinge from the bottom. as we were knocking pin down the way. am just happy that the door shuts as old bent one didnt shut at the top so would let water in. it wasnt alot of water and i put a seat cover on seat which caught all the water.
one part of car some people might be able to help with... as i have removed the old management the gotech does not control the fuel pump. ive looked at wiring drawings for the plug that connects car loom to ecu loom. it shows ignition relay and fuel pump relay wires. now i wired up relay wire to a switch so i could just turn pump on when i was ready to go. but what seems to happen is i put ignition on then flick switch, pump comes on but when you turn ignition off and switch on the pump seems to keep running until i pull negative lead off battery

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
When i fitted my zetec into my mk2 fiesta I had to make provision for a fuel pump as it never ran efi. My pump is wired in to a switch on the dash, I connected the relay into an ignition live, so it can only be operated when the key is on position 2 is that how yours is? sounds like you may have gone into a perm live?
Gareth.

Re: Fiesta zetec turbo
Are you using a focus manifold?
Whats it like for fitment of turbo did you have any issues fitting the turbo? (apart from welding a t3 flange on)

yeah focus manifold t3 flange welded on, turbo fits no probs, knocked up a downpipe and oil return but this is only a temp thing. want it running first.
i think thats what ive done is connect into a perm live. will need to take off the tape and trace some wires

not sure when car will be fully on the road mate as found out ill be a dad this year so all pennies are being put away and ill be doing as much offshore work before its due so can get some time off. car is being finished on cash i make while at home on odd jobs. with mot,tax then a full setup i need a bit of cash.
4 years with a fiesta = lots of money spent
but good times i bet. you going to get another one at some point

complete lower arms are around £260-£280 so not cheap and the joints need regular cleaning... but quality gear...
