Daveroms FRST Restoration/CVH Engine Rebuild Update 21/6/07
I'd add more leather in mine but its not a show car and has to be used as a workhorse and for trips to and from uni so a bit impractical. Sounds like a good plan that you've got and it will be a stunner when its finished.

More pics taken tonight,
Guy in the background is the bodyshop owner
A tiny dent was found in the front wing so has had to be filled. They only noticed it when it had been painted
Nice gleaming rear quarter
Not sure what to do with the rear clusters
There have been a few probs fitting this part of the bodykit. I may have to source a new bit if it dosen't sit right.
Same problem here as with the front wing
floor panel, bulkhead and rear suspension turrett painted and wax oiled
Aiming for this weekend for all painting to be done and some bits of the interior fitted

The inner front wings were fine mate. No probs at all with those.
The floor panel was fitted, zinc primed then painted and then had the sound deadening pad put over that and painted again. As for the rear turrett i'm not sure. The rust was minimal on there anyway but i'll ask next time i'm up.

DaveRom :Some more pics i took yesterday. Only minor things to sort then its done. Sorry about the pic quality though. I forgot to put the flash on max.
Car is looking really good Dave! Mine is back this week in time for Ford Fair (yay!).
I had the same problem with the flash on my camera when taking pictures of mine in the bodyshop the other day.
How long until yours is ready? It looks like it's pretty close to being finished!
Cheers,
Andy

Cheers for the comments andy. I've just been reading your post and have to say it looks superb
As for when mine is back, well, should have been last wednesday but there were still a couple of things to sort out so it got put back to friday. On friday the body shop began buffing the paint but found a little imperfection in the roof so we put it back to monday (tomorrow) evening. Did a road test yesterday (on trade plates) to make sure the wheels weren't catching at the front but the car felt s**t. I tightened all the boost hoses, went back out and the engine was boosting properly but it still felt slow. Found out what the problem is though. Cos its not been used for 15 month before yesterday the fecking brakes are partly stuck so i've to sort those out tuesday. Fiesta Turbo's eh! The cause of all my stress
Anyway it should be done tuesday, wednesday at the latest.

i like those rear lights but i would want the uk spec ones, which are like rocking horse poo. If ford still did them i'd be having a set i think.
I get my car back this afternoon so i'll get as many pictures as i can but there are still some little bits and bobs to sort before its finished properly.

Car is starting to piss me off now. Should have picked it up yesterday but when reversing out of garage i press the brake pedal and it reluctantly stops. To cut a long story short the n/s caliper is knackered. I spent yesterday afternoon running round trying to find a s/h one, when i eventually get one its half five and time to shut the garage.
I want a cosworth set up but at the moment cash is tight.
If any kind person wants to donate a pair of cosworth disks, pads, calipers etc please pm me
Seriously though if anyone has the above i might be able to take them off ur hands depending on cost.
Thanks

Ahh bad luck
It looks great. I'd go with the standard front bumper opinion, as you've done so much to get it back to brand spanking standard new, but modifying's a bug, and it's not as though it looks bad!
I hope you can get the caliper replaced, or a cheap Cossie setup soon. Any idea how much that guy would charge for a big standard respray?

I fixed the brakes today so pick up is saturday morning for def.
The bumper thing has caused a lot of debating at the body shop too but i've owned the car over nine years and i got bored of the standard look (i do like the standard bumpers though). i just wanted to change little things and thought the bumpers made it look that bit different without being over the top.
The interior is probably the thing that stands out the most and i know its not to everyones taste but i like it and so far most folk who've seen it in the flesh have given me very positive feedback about it.
I've also had two people asking if it will be for sale, one person off here and another (female) who was walking past the bodyshop last week which is quite flattering.
Sorry i've gone on a bit heeman, i think they charge between 1000-1500 for a paint job.
Thanks
Dave

I finally got the car back last weekend but there are still a couple of things to sort before it goes back on the road. I don't know whether to keep the lip on the front bumper black, or go back to white.
Its not the best pic, but i didn't want to leave it at the front in case the tails from the local phoenix club across the road saw it.

I'm going to try and get some more pics up this afternoon. I've got to wash and polish it. Its going back upto spray and bake next week for some adjustments to the front bumper but i'm keeping the bottom bit black.
Rawli - Thanks for the comments. I agree with you about the grill but i've left it there for a reason. Will PM later.

I've got a nice big pace cooler behind it mate. You can just see it on the bottom right
Having read people's comments about pace intercoolers i think that could have been a bad buy.
I think when i take pictures of the inside you'll freak
