ok i would use something like this to bond the kit but you will need white spirit to clean up the excess stuff;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BODY-KIT-SIDE-SKI ... 563acd15ab

on the inside of the arch are plastic squares i believe where the studs would have fit in, i used a stanley knife to trim this plastic back a bit so the arch fit more flush.you might want to do this but its up to you.

i used black tape or duct tape to hold the arches on because i didnt have any clamps, if i was you i would use tape, stretching it taunt from the arch to just below the rear quarter window, then if you have clamps stick them on aswell.

as for the existing studs its up to you how easy you want to make the job, this means measuring out to drill holes. i didnt really fancy drilling holes incase i made a mistake. i had about 1 or 2 studs left so i just got rid of them and bonded the whole thing.

for the skirts, theyre meant to be rivited on but i just lined them up, drilled a small pilot hole then used self tappers on them.

all depends if your fussy on having it fitted exactly how fords would have done it.

hope this helps

no worrys, glad i can help someone out, its normally me asking for help.

just noticed you have a 5door mk3, you will need to make templates of the rear doors with paper or card to get the shape of the door. then use this to cut out of the arch. you will notice the rear arch wont fit with the 5door without being cut. then stick what you have cut out of the arch on the door, if you get what i mean. its hard to explain it.

let me know how you get on

yea i know what you mean i struggled putting one on the right hand side, earlier and thats now setting but obviously means cant open the door :rolleyes: but do you mean cut it so that youcan still open the rear door ? cus' what my plan was to tack the rear doors up and fill in the gaps so that its a three door, ( wrote my first three door off and cant afford to get a new one so stuck with the 5 door) or will i still need to cut the arche ?

if your going to weld the doors shut it should be fine, will you be sticking filler in the gap around the door where its shut? i think it need to be filled with sheet metal or something because i reckon by the time the body twists a bit going up curbs and stuff the filler would all drop out.

if your gonna have any painting done, whatever you use DO NOT use anything containing silicone. It contaminates the spray booth and reacts the paint and will put the buisness out of work for some time
