Has any one heard about the apparent end of the world on Wednesday?

Heard abit of blah blah LHC black holes blah blah and dont really get it, but I don't think we need to!

If the world doesn't end, then the guy who invented the theory is a bored lonely lonely little man trying to get famous. Speaking to someone on MSN last night, apparently a lot of peeople are actually panicking? If it doesn't happen fair enough, but if it does none of us will know anything about it, or be around to care? So why the panic?

I intend to just carry on as normal, and I don't believe for one minute the world is going to end Wednesday, or in December 2010 as another theory suggests. How can someone be that precise about something which will be caused by something we know so little about?? Remember.... once upon a time we thought the world was flat, whats changed? We don't know that much about the universe we live in, or as much as we pretend to about black holes.

it's utter crap, we have an extremely similar, however smaller scale accelerator in the UK called the Diamond facility - it's been running for a while now and has done nothing unexpected so far...

I'm positive that if you were to speak to anyone directly involved about the possibility of "mini black holes" being created at CERN tomorrow that swallow the planet, they'd just laugh at you.
