Ok, So I lied. Here's the dog's replacement...
 
 
I pick it up after work tonight (it's only round the corner), so I'll try and get some better photos later on if the weather is decent.
 
 
It's had 3 previous owners, but 2 of them were the same person, who had sold it to his neighbour, where it only covered 3000 miles in 14 months and then returned to the original purchaser again.
 
The works conversion was carried out in 2008, at around 70,000 miles.
It also has the JCW brakes, which were fitted in 2005.

That looks really clean. Supposedly the last of the drivers' Mini until the GP came along.

Took it to Combe as a show queen on Saturday. Makes a fantastic shelter from rain!
Half a tank there and back (ish) so not as bad as I was thinking either!







And last night after work, I decided to swap over the bulbs from the Mondeo.

In went the CREE LED 501 side lights. Thankfully no errors like flickering bulbs after you lock the car. So these clearly work well in minis!




Then whilst I was at it, I thought why not and in went the H7 MTEC Cosmos bulbs into the main beam (were in dipped on the Mondeo)

Colours all match the Xenons fairly well



Lowered the shutter speed on my phones camera to make it night time!

I got bored this weekend.

Started with this on Saturday, one times dirty roof


Clean it off and get annoyed at the swirl marks!


The sun was out and the roof was very hot, so I didn't want to use a polish much stronger than t-cut! Will get some G3 on it at a later date.




Again I was bored, sprayed some demon shine onto the exhaust tips and used an old microfibre to see what lies underneath (Forgot a before picture)


Then used the t-cut on them, need to find my autosolv.




Still bored, I investigated my side marker lights, having changed the bulbs, only one works! Need to track and check the wiring. Couple of them are cracked too, so I'll try and get some replacements







Now onto Sunday evening, I decided to remove the Denison IceLink Gateway 100 (iPod > CD Changer adapter) and no-holes mount.
So stripped down the dash to this!


Just to remove this!





Got bored on Monday too and stripped it all back to fit a new head unit I went out and bought! :blub:

Got two updates.

One's crap, so I'll start with that. I spent last week with Sarah and went to see her parents on Monday.
To get back I was using the M1 by Chesterfield (J29) where there are currently roadworks whilst they rebuild the central reservation. This means that lane 3 on both carriageways are closed, hard shoulder is now a live lane and average 50MPH speed limit.
I was in Lane 1, passing a car that was doing 49MPH when, from the other side of the motorway came a huge stone hurtling towards my windscreen!! It made me flinch, and the impact woke Sarah up!

Annoyingly, it caused this;




Phoned my Insurance on Tuesday, and for the pleasure of £50, a replacement will be fitted on June 14th!!!!! That really is the soonest they could do it!





Now the better update.

I've always wanted one, and this stone impact is what made me do enough research to actually buy one!

A box turned up at work just over an hour ago.



Opened it up to find a "Mini 0801" dashcam, hard-wiring kit, GPS base and 32GB MicroSD card.



As it's very quiet, no work to do, naturally, I went out and installed it!



I've decided, seeing as the screen in being replaced soon, to mount it on the rain sensor. It gets a great view from there, it's not visibile from the drivers seat (nor the passenger, I think) and the GPS picks up a signal just fine too.
From outside (although this picture is crap anyway) you can hardly see it and really have to look for it, which is great.




As MINIs have a switched cigarette lighter socket I've hung the cable for now, will look into hard wiring it maybe on Saturday.

You'll notice the top left corner displays Date/Time & speed (which is laggy and I want to turn it off!)
Below that (though blank at first as it gains signal) is the Latitude and Longditude
And below that is the "Driver Number", which I've set as my registration number.

One of the best things fitted to my Fiesta is the dashcam. The amount of stupidity and near misses I've caught on the thing makes it a very sound investment!
