Re: Project Mk3 Reppy... 5dr !
Cheers, and thanks Stem, going to give the scrappy a call at the beginning of the week and ask them to keep a look out for me !! Quite keen to do the interior and other bits first, possibly even wheels before body kit because I don't want to have to ring my insurance company and suffer an even bigger blow than theyve given me !! £1300 quid for the year because I'm a first time driver.
Not passed yet, Got a week intensive and test in Mid August and then I'll be well away. Cant stop looking at parts though! Very very excited about cracking on with this!
Love the new signature bit to by the way Stem, looks mint !! RS Bonnet and Arches next???

Re: Project Mk3 Reppy... 5dr !
Thanks
Hopefully getting my arches and skirts sorted fairly soon, they're just in the garage all painted up waiting to be fitted at the moment, just gonna get my test over with and actually get on the road before doing much more on the car, test is in 3 and half weeks so not long to wait
... hopefully haha
then i'l be on the lookout for a decent set of alloys and maybe spoiler and then i'l go from there realy, not sure what next

Re: My First Car -
I haven't posted here for a while so heres a little update with a little more background to previous posts!
I am still a learner driver, so I have booked my theory test for 22nd July and my driving test for 22nd August. Doing a week intensive the week before my test so going to try and get a few more lessons out of the way before then. Despite having to save up all that money I still cant stop buying stuff for my car, and it has to stop!! At the rate I'm going I wont be able to afford to drive the forquette thing, but it'll be a nice car =/.
So far I've brought:
- Sony head unit and some simplee speakers, which wont be cained on the bass but brought a cheap package deal so why not! Head units in, speakers are going in this weekend.
- Agreed buying an SI interior which I expect to have delivered some time next week, front and back seats and all the door cards. Love the SI seats but been waiting a while to get a complete interior so it all matches and the seats dont look out of place.
- Clear side repeaters, just because I actually hate with passion the orange ones on the side, and they should look good on a white car
Those will be fitted the weekend aswel.
As for the interior, the old one is being stripped out this weekend and I am going to try and sell it even if I dont get a lot for it. Then as soon as it comes next week I'll be fitting it. Keen to make sure there are loads of pics off all the work coming on here so I'll take some before and after pics on Saturday when we strip it out, and get some pics up when the new interior is in too!
I plan to get hold of some smoked tail lights next, and de-badge it all (and that GB sticker has gotta go!!!). Looking at a back box too in the not too distant future!
Any comments welcome and suggestions for what I should be looking to do when all this is done! Probably going to give the body kit a miss for now (because of insurance) but seriously considering some mondeo zetec style wheels (the 5 spokes...) and some 35mil lowering springs!

Tweek :Oh look, it has 5 doors
Oh yes !! This car was originally brought by my step dad (was a cat D and he repaired it) for mum (lol =/) to drive but she didnt want it so picked it up cheap.
1800 Jamie :Looks good mate, get a white xr2i kit on there and it will look mint.
If I did decide to bite the bullet on insurance and go down the bodykit and wheels road I would probably go for some mondy wheels (not to expensive and look nice) and a cossie front bumper cos I think that looks stunning and I think it would suit a while car well too.

Thats the plan mate, avoiding some boy racer sh!t to be honest. Just want it to look different but not like some halfords sh!t.
SI seats and door cards paid for and meant to be coming Wednesday, so should have some pics of it stripped out soon and pics of it all done on Wednesday or Thursday!

Looks like theres a bit of wear on the left hand side? Will see when they come!

Back seats shouldnt be difficult to get out. If they are proving tough, get more leverage on your spanner.

You might be better off just removing the foam parts, rather than the whole seat backs. This means you don't have to use massive torx bits.

Not too sure what I am going to do, like I mentioned to you before, I'm all ideas at the moment and open to any new ones too. Might go for SI bumpers as the SI interior is going on soon but then I will be missing arches and skirts, which dont go too well with the SI bumpers (dont like the way they dont blend in well at the front at all....).
Another thing is I'm not sure how long I'll have the car for, so not sure how much money I am willing to spend.
Dammit, seats just got here and the back seats split in the middle where as the old ones didnt which is a pain, so will need to buy some brackets me thinks! They will need a good clean aswel!
Here they are, look much darker here. Might just be bad light...

Bit of wear on the drivers side seat here....

Will be fitting them tomorrow night, so I expect I will have to put some pics on! Will try to get some better pics of the car aswel, the underside possibly too if the weather isnt too bad.

Not a bad little buy! nice one, good luck with sorting it out to how you want it! Also good luck with ya test etc mate! I only passed mine 2 months ago... Still not got a car of my own to drive... SO FRUSTRATING! Need to get my Fez sorted, MOT'd, Cossie bumper back on, get the new bonnet sorted, buy some wheels and get her sprayed!

Reckon mine's OK... I got quoted just under £1800 on mine, that's with the, bodykit, lowering, wheels and exhaust declared.Embarrasingly it's only a 1L but needed to keeps costs down... I'm a new driver and written off my Mum's car about a month ago 'cause of some sketchy old folk.

Well the front seats are in, and need to crack on with the rest sometime soon, a bit new to all this doing stuff with cars simply because this is my first car but really eager to learn! Will have to get some brackets for the back seats to get them in and dont wana mess too much with the door cards. I've got a nasty habit of assuming stuff is easy and then cocking it right up!!
Anyway pics...... not very good quality but enough to get a rough idea.

So tonight I said about de-badging the back end.... a hair dryer, my brothers bank card, some white spirit and some t-cut is all it takes!
Weeyy that stupid GB sticker and those poxy "splash" ones are gone!! For ever!!
Beforee......

After.......

I really recommend doing this to anyone, as long as you've got the patience to do it, it makes such a massive difference and doesnt cost a thing. Comments welcome.

Ignore the 5 door comments, I happen to think 5 door cars look pretty good. I have no preference really as have had one of both, but I do have to say 5 door is way way more convenient.
