That's the only downside to standard rims clark, i have this problem but was thinking about rs2000 brakes front and rear should be similar in stopping power, maybe.
Have you managed to sort out a set of green strips mate??? or whats the plans for the exterior???

Green strips are on there way - got a full set off small Paul from FT. including bumper inserts.
Ideally i would like to restore this Rs to standard in every way i can but doing that i will need to source a lot of parts. (dash , carpet , kick panels , center console , steering wheel, gear knob, door cards etc....)
Exterior wise for now , amber indicators, hella rear clusters, green strips, black mondy wheels. Cant decide what mirrors to go for....
I have my eye on some standard Rs brake calipers on ebay but im not paying over £15 for them.

did someone mention standard rims .....
i spent around 3 hours scrubbing the backs of these old rims - they had 3mm of brake dust and grit ....
i tried all kinds of cleaning products, in the end i used cif power cleaner to remove the stuborn grit.
They need a refurb in my eyes - and 3 need new tyres.

Update
Today i got stuck in with the rear of the car. I got a replacement filler neck from jay in the post so wasted no time and got it fitted.
I cut the cable ties holding it up to the body and it was only held at the fuel tank. I didnt need to drop the fuel tank or drop down the rear beam to remove it from the tank. Bit of wd40 helped it slide out with ease.
fuel tank minus the old filler neck.
Fuel necks side by side
new vs old - the old doesnt have the inner slotted part which connects to the fuel pannel and the clips which the fuel cap locks onto.
Fitted to the car with a new outter ring. Lots of swear words was shouted fitting this in the fuel tank !
This neck came from a later mk3 fiesta, as this one has a splash back feature in the neck to prevent fuel splashing up to the back of the fuel cap and running down the bodywork.
The finsished product.
While the rear was up i gave the valance a clean and fitted a new rear wiper arm with new ford blade.
More goodies in the post

nice one mate, certainly is comming along very very nicely.
i never knew the later mk3's had the splash back thing, very handy and am now going to hunt one down myself as am going to be swapping my tank over in next month or so to sort out the mk5 dials backward fuel gauge!
cant wait to see the car back on the road in all its glory.

Update:
I managed to bolt up the whole exhaust system on my own today with just a trolley jack and axel stands on the drivers side. Was quite tight getting under the car.
Magnex 3 inch outward rolled system
Spot the polyflex exhaust hangers.
The down pipe needs a hanger welding to it to hold it up as it currently touches the lower brace.
I also got a replacement cvh starter motor so the diesel one can be replaced.

looking good mate!
In my eyes the perfect FRST is dropped 30mm on standard rims, green stripes, orange indicators, nice inward rolled 3/3.5 stainless, mk4 rear wiper.
Interior wise, all the black carpet, dash and trims, but with the recaros.
Nice power engine, 1600cvh obviously.
Brakes wise I reckon there must be wilwards that will fit, there are enough options for the old school fords that s**t on cossie brakes and fit under 13s!
I don't care what colour. I reliased this when having a convo with someone the other day, perhaps Rhino. I said if I had another one it would defo have to be either black or white. Or red or grey.

I have the bracket which mounts to the gear box but the actual exhaust has the hanger in the wrong place. the hanger is near the handbrake instead of being next to the box. So i need one welding on at that point.
Then i managed to get the car turning over on saturday but the fuel pump was not priming when ignition is on. So the car refuses to start.
ive checked all the fuses and i have also discovered there is no fuel safety cut off switch in the passenger footwell. the wires have just been bridged.
So im in desperate need of a auto electrician to go over the wiring and alarm system as i got a feeling that may be part of the problem.

Just on that point about the mounting near the handbrake, you should also have a little bracket which fixes to the gear linkage mounting point.
Keep up the good work, its now looking like a Fiesta turbo again.

mine has! !

Got a pic of this bracket which mounts next to the handbrake ?
Even if i had this bracket i still need one next to the gearbox to keep the downpipe from touching the lower brace.

Sorry I can't scrabble about under the car & get you a pic at the mo as its lowered 60mm (baxtered drop soon to be only 30) & its always dark when I get home.
I didn't mean to seem off about the mounting brackets & yes you will need one on the G'box as well.
On the middle hanger bit I could check my exhaust reciept for the part no for this little bracket & then you may be able to source one from Magnex as they do sell the bits seperate.
Tell you what I'll have a look tonight if that'l help ya
& are you still after any Green trim strips

If you could get a part number of that hanger that would be great - cheers mate
I recently got myself a full set of Rs green strips including bumper inserts, two of the door strips are badly twisted in places.
pics :
Front drivers side bent out of shape along side the straight passenger side strip.
One of the door strips has 2 lumpy bits . Not sure if they will bend back.
Im going to have to spend ages removing al the old foam glue on the backs
