JayRS: Yeah agree with you 100% mate - it's just a fact of life on ebay, you get good and bad members, feedback doesn't tell the whole story unfortunately!

At last I've managed to sell the Manj!

Poor little thing must have felt pretty damn worthless after all the kn*bbers, timewasters and "oxygen-thieving" chives that it seemed to attract while it was on Ebay!

I let her go quite cheaply (lets just say the guy, James from Derby who bought her got a BARGARIN!!) I'm glad he bought it though as he is a real enthusiast who I know will get the poor old Manj's bodywork squared away

That's the reason I had to drop the price a bit, the sills have seen better days and I just don't have the facilities or time anymore to keep doing jobs on her

He collects her next weekend, watch this forum for HIS progress with the Manj and the next chapter in her eventful life!

P.S: Manj's engine bay on pg 140 of this month's Fast Ford in the n/a zetec mapping guide
  Lazy of you Neil mate!

jayrs :is the guy a member already?
Not sure whether he is
I had a great 4 years with the car but I just needed to move on, I have no proper workshop facilities at my new posting although I have hangar space on camp, so I'll keep my MK1 escort clean and maintained while I'm here then the REAL work will begin in 2009
I'll be at FordFair in my RS2000 rep MK1 escort reg JHE 26N on the Oldskoolford.co.uk stand (yeah traitor I know!

The Manj is sold with the FT.com sticker still on the rear screen so hopefully curiosity will get the better of him!

Crikey I did't realise YOU were wildheart!
I DID let him have it for a steal but I know the Manj has gone to a good home and that I'm sure she will soon be far more immaculate than at any point during my ownership of her!!
I'm meeting him at Wisbech in the Manj this Sunday to save him such a massive journey again!
I dunno, driving up there with a nice, modern engine, civilised road manners and 6 gears - then driving home in a 32-yr old car with an old Pinto on "40's"

My smile actually turned upside down when I saw the title of your thread just now
Well sad to see my lil brother leave your stable. Ho hum, as long as you're happy and you've "moved on" (even if it is back in time
) to the car you wanted, all is well and good. The Manj was a little cracker, great creation
See you in a week or so hopefully eh?!

I took the Manj on her last ever drive with my good self at the helm yesterday on the 140-mile trip to Wisbech to hand her over to new owner, James (Gregs on this forum) and also collect my old-skool escort

To say that the difference in driving the two cars is like night and day is a (MASSIVE) understatement!!

The Fez happily sits at 3-figure speeds on the motorway all day long if you want it to and happily sails past most things effortlessly...
...The Escort on the other hand sounds like pure sex through the twin Dellorto 40's and perversley concumes LESS fuel than the Fiesta did!!

The downside is that although she is quite tail-happy when you give it some, she still isn't as quick as the fez (yet!!
) and the poor old pinto redlines where the ST170 lump was just waking up!!

Still loved the drive home getting loads of toots and admiring thumbs-up from old boys remembering their youth and even some younger guys in a scooby gave me some respect

There's something nice about just chilling in the slow lane in a 32-yr old classic, keeping your distance and enjoying the ride whilst all the idiots in the other lanes in their bloated new rep-mobiles cut each other up and get stressed out!

Anyway, back to the Manj, Gregs got her home to Derby safe and sound
so both the Manj and my Escort will be at Ford Fair this weekend - See you there!

Sh*t - better change my siggy now!!!
