I'm off to the 'pod tomorrow in it to see the Classic Ford Show and (maybe) lay down some rubber!
Not sold it as yet, the more I look at it and drive it I just want to keep it and improve it more

Kept my word and took her to the 'Pod where she stayed put looking pretty on the FastFord stand for several hours until testosterone overtook my brain and I HAD to hit the strip!
I managed to get 15 seconds and was just shy of the ton on my best run which is fair considering the weight of the car and the relatively modest power
(Just waiting for my mate who video'd it to send me it...)
The old Skool Escorts I raced against were both stripped out had hot pintos on '50's so needless to say you couldn't hear my humble fiesta
Seriously quick cossie YB turbo MK1
Was also great to see mikeeRS closing a cossie down with that ballistic 13.58 run
I'm not jealous (much!!!
)

Oi! Did you put some more blue hoses on for your stand appearance?!
:lol::lol:
Looks lovely as usual (if a little more blurry than usual). It's so sad when you think you have a nippy car, then it posts feeble (by other strip-goers' times) times and gets dusted my shonky old cars from the 80s

I'm hearing your cry mate!:P Feeeeble!:
I didn't give it complete death as my car actually had to be driven home reliably in 4 hours of traffic unlike a lot of the "trailer queens" which would have probably spontaneously combusted/ran out of fuel or sucked the car in front into their carbs if they were driven in the same conditions!
Blurry photos are taken on my mate, Paul's mobile, I think it's got a resolution of about 0.0001 megapixels

Supercharger is at the back of the queue at the moment after sills and respray first which I still haven't got round to in my hectic life lol!
After that I'll be saving my pennies again and getting a nice Quaife ATB to help me get the 260 or so ponies to the tarmac!
Hope you get your 1800 all sorted soon mate

jimmyesh : Me and Chris Todd (from Torque of the Devil) have been chatting on Passionford about the powerworks kit and I'm going to fit it myself (once I've handed over loads of hard-earned!), then tow the car to them (Uxbridge is'nt too far) to get it all mapped and set up on Omex management, well that's the plan anyway!
![]()
That Chris at torque is such a nice fella. He done a excellent job on my Rs. Even spoke to me about what tuning to go for.
Cant wait to see the manj at ford fair, looks like a right animal even more with the cossie rims.
One thing i must criticize, change that bailey header tank for a brand new ford one. 100% better

Yes It's true I'm afraid, It's time for me to say fairwell to my faithful Manj!

As I said in general car discussion I went to court against Lloyds TSB and won a nice chunk of cash back off them yesterday
I was thinking of blowing it on the Fez but I've owned 6 mk3 RS & XR fiestas since 1997 and I could keep throwing all my money at it forever if I wasn't careful!
Basically I really want an old-skool Ford Escort and I know that they're bloody expensive nowadays I just hope I'll manage to get enough sponds together to buy one!
I will really miss this car and the way it runs at the moment it's the nicest it's ever been to drive as well - I'm sure a mk1 escort will be a bit less civilised and a fair bit slower (until I start replacing Engines/Transmissions!
)
That said, If I don't get offered the right amount or the bidding doesn't go well then I will keep her as i wouldn't be able to live with myself if it went for pennies after all the blood, sweat and tears AND money I spent putting it together!
All I can say is someone is going to end up with a very nice (and different) Fiesta RS, my humble opinion of course!

knuckles :why is everyone on here selling up or getting shot of unfinished projects
Mine WAS finished!
The only way I could have taken it further would have been by blowing several grand on a respray and a powerworks supercharger or a Turbo conversion and TBH, like I said previously I just fancy a change now after owning so many Mk3 RS and XR Fiestas for the last 10 years
Whatever I buy next I'm staying on this Forum as it's a good place to visit

Awesome and well thought out car there fella, spoke to you a couple years back when you were selling the tb's off the 2.1 engine but they were already gone, top bloke tho
Hoping you may be able to assist me with the knowledge you have gathered doing this conversion.
I'm looking into putting a focus rs engine into my 1997 escort. I have found an engine with the engine loom and ecu but it doesn't have the barrel or keys which is where i start to get confused. Is this gonna cause a big problem or can i just run it without using the pats? Any light you can shed will be helpfull and if there's any other parts i'll need.
Keep up the top work

RST Mark: Cheers for the kind words mate, I will PM you ref fitting Focus bits when I get a break from my screaming 8 week old baby daughter!
Edders: Cheers too, yeah I know it's sad to see it go mate but it's time for a change, not sure I'm gonna have enough for a GENUINE Mex though as they're silly money on ebay!

RE-LISTED ... D'oh!!!
How silly do I feel now!!!
I really thought it was gonna go mad at the end with 49 watchers but I guess they were just lurking!
New ebay link anyway
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %26fvi%3D1
The WORST that can happen is that I end up keeping it, so life's not THAT bad I suppose!

I thought It'd be fitting to take Evie for a spin in the RS before it is sold, so I drove to her Gran's kent driving like a (safe) old fart rolling along at 2500rpm in 6th letting all the loonies past!
At least now, when she is older she can say she rode in a really cool car when she was 8 week's old
In hindsight, I don't think coilover-equipped Mk3 fiestas are the best transport for young babies though, I was worried her head might fall off!!

And here we are again!!
The winning bidder's loan application was declined apparently
Nice of him to let me know 1 hour before the end!!
Here's the new link for anyone that's interested, reserve is £3.5k, can't say fairer than that for the spec of the car

There's so many bloody time wasters on eBay...
Can't believe you got that close to selling and then to be mucked around.
Still think you should take it to ford fair though

CheeRS for the support guys!
Part of me would love to keep this car as I've become so attached to it and put so much effort into making it what it is but I've kinda resigned myself to the fact it's being sold now and I HATE lingering goodbyes!!
I've had a few people get in touch, say the WILL own it and give me 4 grand then just disappear off the radar again!!!
I just fancy a change after 6 mk3 fiestas in 10 years and the only car I'd see as a worthy replacement for the MANJ is a RWD 2 door old-skool escort!
- Then I can get fettling again and find myself a nice 2.3 duratec and get that nicely tuned to a N/aspirated 250bhp or so, that will make a nippy but tractable little car!
Will STILL be at Ford Fair but in my Focus Oil burner, there's so many people I have chatted to for so long on this forum but never met in the flesh, I think me and Heeman10 should have an arm-wrestle!
