2i Start up after 3 year lay up.
Hi I have read lots of info on how to start up a car after a long lay up. I think some info is unnecessary. (Squirt oil down plug holes into cylinders!?) I've decided to drain oil and change filter on my 2i, check plugs, siphon out old fuel, put in some fresh fuel and a fuel additive then just fire it up. Anything else yous would recommend before starting engine? Thanks

what I do is take out the spark plugs and give direct power to the start motor so its the motor spinning the engine up. I let it do this for about 4-5 mins, this pumps oil around everything, put the plugs back in and then fire up as normal.
