Speaker warm up and cool down time

Postby BoyRacer1 on Sat Apr 22, 2006 1:44 am

this may sound really stupid but should you warm your subs up and cool them down before and after use when i say warm up and cool down i dont mean put the heating on then open the window lol i mean should you run some low volume not to deep bass for a few minutes before you start to hit really deep bass at high volumes and visa versa after you have hit really bassy notes at high volume should you run some not deep bass at a lower volume for a few minutes.

Thanks for any help :)

i think if it is all brand new then you need to run them in a bit. but no mate, just crank them up and do what you like, there speakers, not exactly complicated things.

Not really mate, but one thing I will say is that when its cold it will take longer for them to loosen up and start pumping bass out, As for warming down no theres not any need.
Breaking in subs isnt really necessary these days since everything is built to be used...that goes for cars, subs, most things really

Trust me mate 500w RMS is more than enough, you just need a better sub ;)
Try an R.E. SE12 they are serious subs and dont require much power to get them pumping
