Sound System Problem
Hello Everyone...
Ive visited the site quite a bit but have just become a member...
At christmas i bought myself the £200 full sound system from car audio centre arrived quite promptly and all in good condition... Been in my mk4 1.3 fiesta for about 6 weeks now and have had no problems..but.. then a couple of days ago the amp kept going into self protection mode for some unknown reason i looked at all my wires they were fine but my amp felt ice cold so i unplugged an took into house to warm up an surely enough took it out warm and worked perfectly...
Then yesterday i went out there doing some odd bits to my car and was listening to music then all of a sudden i had no bass so i turned the volume all the way off and i cud hear the sub going ...thud...thud...thudd but no bass just on its own even if no music is playing...
Now i have checked all the wiring and i cant see any shorts in the wires...
Ive opened the amp to see if a capacitor has blown./... none have blownn..
Ive checked the connections on the sub box inside and out and all seem very good...
all wiring behind my head unit seems fine as the only soldered wire is my remote wire the only other wire is my rca lead and thats fine...
Can anyone help me at all ??
Many Thanks
Dan

Re: Sound System Problem
sounds like lack of power posibly if you have a second battery try a temp set up using that to run amp and see what happens. and or add an extra earth.

Re: Sound System Problem
9 times out of 10 amp problems are caused by bad earths, make sure it has i good metal to metal contact. I normally sand away a bit of paint at the point i earth the amp, that should dort it out for you mate.

Re: Sound System Problem
