depending on who you talk to will depend on what answer you get on how good/bad they are.
over all, and imo, there better than rubber bushes, but really there ment to be used on track/smooth roads, you can use them on the road and in most cases without problem, but with the state of most of the roads in the uk, how long they last and comfort i wouldnt like to say.
(i dont use them on my RS, so cant comment on comfort)
you can buy rose joints yourself, and just fit them in as needed, but me, i would sooner go for a powerflex bush

Re: Rose jointed wishbones
when rubber bushes are used the geometry of the car changes slightly as the rubber flexes, this happens when you go around a corner or when a lot of power is applied(boot it)etc.
with the spherical bearings aka rose joints, this change in geometry is minimised. this helps with torque steer and cornering.
i have a set on my car, didnt really notice a change in comfort as the car is stiff anyway.

Yeah it's tempting to look at getting some due to the fact even the SI has harsh suspension over the roads around Derby, what's a little more stiffness going to do? When my back hurts I do actually drive down the bumpy roads for a massage.

if your cars is not decked about 60mm then you really shouldnt feel much differece as seg said they will make the steering more firmer and tyres last hell of alot longer with rose jointed arms if you get camber adjsutment ball joints

Also important if you have lots of power as my rubber bushes ripped under load and meant i had lots of play. It made it very interesting when putting my foot down!

I found they helped sharpen up the steering when cornering hard or powering roundabouts

Id say rose joints are a track thing and good quality poly bushes will give a far more forgiving ride on the crap roads
