Quad Bikes?

Postby KEVFRST on Mon Jan 26, 2009 10:54 pm

Anyone into these?
Just looking into using one as a daily runner, obviously a road legal quad of around 250cc and upwards. Basically something that will do 70mph max. What are these chinese brands like? Worth the 1000 for them or not? I only have a small budget so a used item would suit me best.

Thanks in avance for your opinions/suggestions.

I would never buy any chinese branded car or anything, my mate had a chinese branded scooter and it broke within 5mins! I think round my area there is a guy who has a yamaha one which is road legal, sounds a beast

shouldnt need bike license. although might need to upgrade license. depending when you passed. check out Insurance as I WAS GOING TO GET A THREE WHEELED 250cc chines scooter. Only found one companie that would insure it and only for third party. I have chiness scooter its been good so far front shocks are :x and the starter does not like to ingage getting new on soon under warrenty. Also look for the crash test vidoes you hit a car up the arse you may go in the back and out the front. not to mention how unstable these are when going round bends. Think it may have been fith gear that did a topic on them.

Chinese engineering is shocking. I work with fairground rides and the Chinese have started making dodgem tracks, the first ones the trucks bent in the middle and the next lot that were made stronger didn't even fit onto the trucks

Off topic I know but it just goes to back up bas_saph's comments that Chinese build quality isn't very good lol.
