Pic request - DTMs

Postby Fezza_305 on Thu May 29, 2008 10:40 pm

Hey, thinking of fitting some DTMs on my mk4 fiesta cos they quite cheap on ebay at the moment. Just wondering if anyone had pictures so i could visualize it a bit better on my car. I had a quick flick through google images but they all tend to be the M3 style on there. If pictures arent possible, do you think it'll look good? thanks guys.

ive got M3's on my mark 3 but most people on here are into the standard look. i would actually like to get a nice looking MK3.5 pair of wing mirrors but they are bottom of my wish list at the moment.

Its up to you really mate, i think they would look fine :)

I have that they aren't the best mirrors as you can't see that much out of them due to them being so close to the car and you can't see your blind spot very clearly at all, but this might not be the case for you, i am just passing on what others have said :)

I have a set of M3 ones on mine but everyday i start to hate them more and more, to make it worse i just threw the stadard ones in the bin

I wish i had never put them on.

Thats quite interesting. Why do you dislike your M3s now? Is it all the reasons you just listed above?

Yea ive heard that they are quite impractical bit to be honest i dont use them as often as i should, id rather use the center mirror. I know its wrong but only time i really use the wing mirrors is when im about to overtake, change lanes and even then ive got into the good habbit of looking over my shoulder so i think i would be able to live with the DTMs. I still havnt managed to find a picture of a mk4 with them on though :(

Looks like a photoshop job now :bonkers:

If you think you can live without being able to use the mirrors.

Then I think a Mk4 would actually look pretty good with them on, what with it being rounded and all that! lol

I haven't got and photos with a dtms on a mk4 though im afraid! :(

I just hate how they look now, and they shake all the time when your driving and you can't see clearly when my musics on because of the vibrations from my sub. :(

if you only use your mirrors when on your on the motorway then i would suggest not getting them, as thats when they are useless because you can't see anything in them..

If you still want them then, have you tried looking on ebay for modified mk4 on ebay or something?

DTM's are awful mirrors, not as bad as m3's but still pretty bad. my old xr2i had them on when i bought it, the visiblilty out of them is really poor and you lose the interior adjustment, so its basically a downgrade.

It's your blind spot for a reason ;]

I think color coded standard mirrors with gloss bases look wicked, but then I'm all for the sleeper look... Up to you man, but don't buy stuff just cos its cheap, it's even cheaper if you dont buy it =]

JayC :oh and i have 3.5 mirrors and they shake off my sub.. i dont think theres many mirrors that dont

I never said that over mirrors didn't shake, when i had my mk3.5 ones i could still see in then while they were shaking, with th M3 i can't see a thing which makes them useless.

I just want my old mirrors back on
