thanks to project, and xrsi and the haynes manuels i managed to finish the main wiring on the car today!!!!
the best moment was after soldering the rest of the parts and heat shrinking and all that stuff i out the dash back on wired up the power cables and slapped the battery on for the first time in 18months
i was crapping my self if i blew 20 fuses or the car set on fire or just nothing happened
inbetween doin this and that i also manafed to fibreglass and fill the skirts and rub them down got to the filler stage then ran out of time so few more hours on them nxt week and they will be ready for priming and then painting
then the bit i'd been waiting for finally tonight the doors were painted
so all in all quite a bit done alot to go but all looking good
comments welcome

That's great, I'm glad all the wiring's in and working as it should. When there are so many wires that you've played around with, the likelihood of it all doing what it should seems so distant

How hard is it to modify the skirts for fit mate at the front? I've been looking into doing this for ages but wanted some opinions of people that have done it.
Cheers mate

Starting to come along really well, just looked through the previous pages, love all the ideas behind this even just the small details stand out so much.
When do you think it will be finished (probably heard it a million times), would it be ready for FITP would be great to see it in flesh
Brilliant work

Your car looks such a horrid pooey blue in those pics, good job we know better!!
Ad, you REALLY need to start thinking about an engine etc, this is getting silly!!
The boot latch - what exactly is it doing? Are you using a remote boot release? If so, make sure you have the door latch release rods (boot release mechanism and key lock mechanism) connected to the right receivers in the latch. One's longer than the other..just a thought
The front end on that thing's so mental

the boot is fitted perfect the catch is right too and i tried moving the latch but its just not working, i think its cause im using a new catch off my old xr (it was newer) but think it is damaged looks filed???

About the boot catch, Does it not latch itself? A bit stiff? Mine did this. It either had to have some spacing underneath or bolts loose!
Same thing? Or not?
