My Fiesta 1.1i - UPDATED 12/12/2005 - PAGE 3
thought my engine bay was a bit dull. i sprayed the strut tops, and the mounting thing white, makes them stand out a bit more. wanna paint some other parts of the engine bay to make it look more presentable, anyone have any ideas????

also, got a proper ported sub box, and have secured everything down so it doesn't move
comments and ideas are welcome.

Well as you can see the brake fluid tank cap has yellow on it. The proper oil filler cap also should have a yellow top (and dipstick handle) as should the cooling system header tank cap. That was Ford's go at colour coding the fluid maintenence parts of the engine bay.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Don't worry Max is an idiot
The K&N will make it look fresh and the rocker cover in red will go well with the rest of the engine and surrounding bay!
None the less you could drop a 2 litre in and have soem Zetec power with looks!

no, it's an SPLX sub. it's got 400w power, only running on a 280w amp. don't know what makes a good sub, as it's the only one i've had. it's very loud though.

can anyone suggest a paint that will make the rocker cover look good. i know some of these high temp paints are dull, but i want it shiney. the only other option i can think of is powdercoating, but i should think it would cost a bit.

They are not very pretty in the first place, Its hardly a stupid comment and im not an idiot. I have one of these engines.
Tomo made his engine look nice, But i personally cant be bothered with it. If i get a zetec ill do a few bits but nothing much.

i agree with you max, but most of the stuff i'm doing is staying on the car when i get a better engine. i might as well do this stuff, like painting etc. now while i have time on my hands, then when i stick the bigger engine in, it'll look great

Suppose, Thats why i bought chrome strut top things as they stay. CBA with much else chrome though, esp on this engine but on the new one as well. Prefer it all black/new looking.

The white bits look out of place - surely they should be red or black to match the rest of the colour theme on the car?
Just a thought - rest looks nice though! Just a shame the illusion is shattered as soon as you start it up!

andyhardy - yeah, they could be a different colour, but i think the white freshens it up. anyway i can always paint them a different colour in the future.

UPDATE
bought some spax psx front shocks to match my rears.
i had some spax vsx shocks on before, and i must say, these psx one's are a lot firmer than them, which is good because it stops the rubbing over bumps etc.
will get some pics up later.
also looking at getting a white front strut brace, what do you think?
cheers.
