DanFraser :RS EDDIE :Mark, machine mart do the pullers!!
I got mine when you left as i needed one. They do them in all sizes....Only cost like a tenner, does the job just fine!!
For the regular stuff machine mart are awful or expensive. Until you come to need a gem like this tool, then they're awesome.
Register a business account with them as a sole trader, they'll send you a voucher once a quarter to let you buy clarke stuff VAT free (around 16% off) and 10% off everything else. Really not that expensive then.
I got some pullers from there, not expensive but had a huge lip on them, had to grind them down loads to get them under the gearsets / bearings.
Nothing to see here...

Hi there,
Just had a look through the online catalog but couldn't see one, have ordered the paper catalog to have a proper look but do you know what they call it/part number at all?
Cheers

Sorry guys, probably no more updates of my own work for a while as I'm having a break. I still want Ian to finish the engine this year though so I can hopefully get him to take some pics once I have ordered the new crank.

I'm not sure about a time scale, but it will definitely be finished as I have invested too much time and money invested in this to abandon it. Once the M3 is completed I just want a few months break from fiddling with cars

Off the top of my head:
Interior
- Adapt Mondeo clocks
- Wire cruise control inside car
- Adapt clock spring for cruise control
- Wire amps in boot
Exterior
- Final machine polish
- Apply decals
- Adapt headlamps for auto levelling
Engine bay
- Boost plumbing
- Oil system plumbing
- Create cusom airbox
- Mount raiator and AC Condensor
- Plumb A/C system
- Plumb engine cooling
- Have custom exhasut and manifold built
- Add screenwash filler
- Adapt engine bay loom to suit the additional functions I added
- Adapt engine loom for Pectel T6
Suspension
- Fit rear ARB
- Create custom front suspension(!)

TBH I've had enough working on anything for now

The kit destined for my engine has gone to someone else who's engine has already been completed, so it should be tested now. Kinda good that I'm no longer the guinea pig

Yeah. I've seen a kit suitable for the estate, it reduces the size of the handle, and camera fits along side. Certainly a lot easier to fit than the OPS that i was considering fitting.

Ahh cool. The one I've got for the M3 replaces one of the numberplate lights with a camera and LED light module - sounds like a similar idea.

That was the first development kit - obviously Dyno testing had to stop for the engine. There are two subsequent kits now on engines but I don't know about them (haven't asked). I'm free of concern as Ian wouldn't let anything untoward happen to the build

Re: MWSTEWART | 500+ BHP Project | Misc 10/02
A quick update: I've got the car to a state where it can roll so I can transport it to my unit.
The first quick job was to replace the boot struts with some heavy duty versions. Very early Mk3 Fiestas had a single boot strut which is obviously rated to lift the tailgate on its own, and later on Ford switched to two struts to balance out the lifting forces; it could be a bit jerky with a single strut. The later twin struts were around 50% rating of the single.
I bought two of the earlier struts so now the tailgate self opens with a bit more conviction!

I fitted the previously modified sport type Focus rear ARB. The links aren't fitted yet - I need to order some Whiteline adjustable versions. The arrows show the ARB link mount positions; one on the bar, and two I designed in to the suspension arms so the links can be flipped over and repositioned to adjust the amount of anti-roll.

I adjusted the rear coilovers to the approximate ride height. There's a lot of toe-in at the moment which makes the front of the wheel look closer to the top of the arch than it actually is.

The car is going back to SMS next weekend for a bit more paintwork; I've got some new bonnet vents to go in to replace the current second-hand versions that are slightly warped, and then it will have a final machine polish now that the paint is hard. Once SMS are finished ithe car can go to my unit and I will start to get organised in there.

Looking good! You really have thought of everything, brilliant idea putting 2 positions for the ARB links on the rear arm so you can adjust the effect of it

Lovely, although I find with those boot struts fitted it's a bit of an effort to pull the boot down. Just be careful when you press the boot release button as the tailgate will lift of it's own accord!!
btw Was it you that was out in the M3 at Ford Fair?

Thanks guys.
Tom, No I wasn't at FF. I found that I needed the bigger struts to balance out the additional weight of the sound deadening.
Hopefully it will open on its own accord now, I have got used to that on my other cars

Opening on it's own .. it sure will.. it flies open..
I've tried it myself (after adding the 2nd strutt on my early boot.) ..
But closing will need a huge amount of force... to much imho
I'm sure a set with the pushforce 'in between' the early and the later model is available, although i don't know where.

Hi Jur, I have an early strut on one side (the same side as the interior boot handle recess) and a late strut on the other, and its' perfect for me.
