Looking good fella :D

How do you find warping of the panels when you weld on such a large panels, like the roof? do you just take it really slow?

haha the fuel is going in the boot, having an alloy race tank. and with the pannels, u have to be real carful with the pannels, especially if its a MK3.5 cos they are thinner, i take it slow and its ok, apart from the driver door, thats warped, but esilly fixed with a hammer and filler.

Drain-holes and puddles all form on the nearside of the road, meaning that the sills there always get covered in muck/water from the road - hello oxidisation!

It's much more pronounced on cars around my way due to the high salt content sea-air. Car's have to be garaged around here and waxoyl'd to high heaven.

Cheers,

Theres a nack to welding. Obviosuly go slow, but theres a way of tacking it with welds in certain places, then go fully along the line.

yeah i do take it slow, i tack it down in numerous places, depending on the size, then run it a bit at a time, dont know what happened with the drivers door, but its nothing major, its about 2cm square indent, so i hammered it carefully from the inside with a wood block on the outside and skimmed it and its fine. wasnt over and creases or anything.

yeah i had to fibreglass the rear bumper cos it was such a large gap, i didnt fibreglass the front but drilled the line and used alot of hardener. i used U-Pol filler this time , not the Isopn p38 and it seems to be much tougher when sanding so should be ok. both bumpers have been put on and taken off 4-5 times each already lining up and for cutting etc so i think they should be ok.

yeah ive never seen the rear bumper smoothed like that at all, let alone with the twin exits so im hoping its a first.

well i dropped the rear bumper today....but it didnt crack :D fell about 6 feet as well, i put it up high to stop my bro hitting it when he takes his crosser out and it fell off the shelf thingy, but it didnt crack or anything so im confident ill have no problems with it. i almost finished it today as well before it started raining so should be 100% finished by tomorrow night....as will the front bumper, we'll wait and see.

Hi,

I like the progress you have made on your fiesta.
One thing i thought you should know about the side repeaters you have got rid off, It is actually illegal to remove side repeaters.
The car Wont pass the MOT, plus police will have a few words with you if you get caught driving.

I wanted mine removed but was informed by the police when i made a inquiry.

Also a word on removing door handles , You have to inform insurance company about that.
Because if you had a crash and firefighters couldnt get you out of the burning car because you removed door handles ? ? ? then what . . . .

From knuckles :)
