Cheers for the kind words guys
It's just so frustrating knowing that I have all the parts waiting for me, along with a car that's gagging for them to be fitted and I'm still waiting for a flight home!

Back now mate!
There was a mountain of Duratec goodies waiting for me in the dining room (once again to my wife's disgust!
Just need to borrow a van & trailer from a buddy at work to collect the car from my old garage near Reading and my engine from another mate's house in Kent then I can get cracking on with this epic build!

Re: Silver K-Reg 2.3 Duratec-Turbo: 05/10/08
Here ya go then chaps!
Forged 9:1 compression 88mm Pistons.

Caterham CSR200 Cosworth Inlet Plenum (N/Aspirated 2.0 makes 200BHP on these so my Turbo 2.3 should be just fine on it
) - Need to buff the "Caterham" writing off though...

Was a lucky ebay find - even came with a 70mm Throttle body!

ARP Flywheel Bolts.

Fiesta ST Power Steering Pump.

Mondeo 2.0 Duratec MK3 Engine mount (for dummy-fitting purposes, will buy a new mount at some point, honest!)

Chad sticker for the rear 'screen - I was going to leave it as a complete sleeper but I need something to shout about all the hard work that I'm about to undertake!

Off to the Parcel Depot tomorrow to collect my Fidanza Flywheel and SPEC Stage3 Clutch, The Garrett GT28R, Pumaspeed Fiesta ST Turbo manifold, ARP head studs, ARP main studs, Coswoth Main bearings & Gasket set are in the post, stand by for more pics and hopefully some actual progress!

Hi Luke, yeah keeping good thanks mate just glad to be home and able to enjoy all my creature-comforts again!
I was originally going to use the Cosworth "D-Power" inlet plenum that everyone seems to bolt on to the Fez ST, they're a lovely bit of kit but I just couldn't justify £700+ for one
Can't wait to get this thing built now - I got back into camp last night and there was a couple of project-cars sat in the workshop, I couldn't help thinking: "You fellas better move over and make some space"!

Awesome they best let the KING through i say!
That throttle looks similar to the one i have mate and the size is prety much spot on any bigger and on light throttle it casues issues with response.
You seem to be pretty on top of it all now the fun part commences now then - machining and fitting etc.
I shall let you settle in etc and then have to have a natter on the telephone mate soon to catch up properly
Nice to hear your home mate

CheeRS for the kind words Luke, call anytime mate.
Just been and collected some parcels from the Parcelforce depot in Ipswich and couldn't believe how much I had to spend in VAT & import duty!
Check out the VAT charge for my clutch and flywheel

Here you go - a nice, new Fidanza flywheel to replace the old, nasty dual-mass one.

Stage 3 SPEC Clutch - Thinking this is gonna be rather nasty to use in traffic!

Cosworth main crank bearings from Burton Power - Thought I'd better renew all bearings while I'm rebuiding it

Hi everyone, I've been a busy boy down at the scrap yard today - got ALL these parts for just £40!!!
G & L Autospares Colchester are by far the most reasonable and friendly scrappy I've ever been to.
Mondeo MK3 2.0 Duratec MTX 75 Gearlever Mech & Gear shift/selector cables:

Fiesta MK4/5 Pedal Box with Hydraulic Clutch Master Cylinder and all pipework:

Fiesta MK4/5 Brake M/cylinder & reservoir (has outlet for hydraulic clutch)

Fiesta MK4/5 Brake cross-linkage (Mk4 Pedal has different attachment for brake linkage than earlier MK3):

That was all I could muster in the couple of hours that Mrs Esh let me spend in there today but I have seen some more useful bits for future visits

Hopefully pick car up within the next fortnight, opnce I'm in work on Thursday I can start begging people for trailers and vans!

Re: Silver K-Reg 2.3 Duratec-Turbo: 07/10/08
As it was pissing down today, I thought it was an ideal time to sit indoors and fit some piston rings
I also figured out the wiring for the Focus RS instrument cluster to allow it to work in the humble MK3 Fez (still got to get hold of a signal generator from work to test the speedo yet though...
)

Off to the scrap yard again tomorrow for more "skinned-knucke" action

Here's a quick pic of the RS Clocks illuminated, how things'll look at night

Look at that mess!
Good job I know what's going on then (?!)
A few bulbs removed for features that my old nail doesn't have (such as ABS, Airbags, Traction Control, Seatbelt warning lamps.... etc).

Coming along nicely mate, good job. I've been up to G&L Autospares a few times in the past, and they're extremely useful for parts (and if you need trim parts etc, just wear a large jacket/coat. wink, wink
) Keep up the good work!
