i am wanting to connect my subwoofer to my mk6 standard cd player

It can be done but you will still require a amplifier of some sort. You need to use the high output to the amplifier which is done by using all the speaker outputs from your head unit. Its a bloody pain to be honest mate and your much better off using a different head unit
