Mk5 radio removal

Postby laggass on Sat Apr 22, 2006 11:47 am

:-? I need help removing the standard tape/radio player in my mk5 zetec, from what i can gather i need to get a release key (or make one) and then stick it in the 4 holes and presto it should pop out. I tried this earlier with a coat hanger but i wasn't sure just what to do to make the radio release. If anyone can give me any further info that'd be very helpful. Thanks. :-?

p.s do i need an adapter lead if i want to conect my clarion head unit? or is the standard connection ready?

if its anything like the mk4 then you need 4 wire coat hanger bits and grab 2 at each side, if you push them out it should just pop out took me about half an hour but worth it. sorry about wording but im tierd  hope it was a help :D

Whwn removing insert tools push out to the side and then pull
