Re: M4D RST Fiesta - Intercooler
That would be good. Would be a good jig to be able to send them to make a copy from in the future should you decide to do it in the future.
Are you mounting the damper from the box? I made a manifold once for a FRST with the turbo above the box. It was the IB5 though, which has plenty of lugs for mounting bolts to be tapped into! Does the Getrag box provide these benefits?
Steve

At the moment the damper will be mounted of the head and span out to pick up of the turbo flange on the manifold where a tab will be fixed to bolt the rosejoint too.
The box does have many lugs actually so this is going to have a spring style damper which is my plan this weekend to research into.
The top damper is more of a support that can allow the movement under expansion and compression of the manifold, the lower one will absorb the flex/impact from the driving cherteristcs of the car under load and backing off, hard cornering , bumps etc.

Re: M4D RST Fiesta - Intercooler

This is the greatest task to date sourcing drive shafts, and a huge thanks to JIMMEYESH and GREGGS for there advice when requested.
The problem I have faced is that the power intended will snap a standard cut and welded shaft so i needed to measure the shafts to the desired length.
After a week of contacting various companies i have found one that can copy the splines and re-make the shaft from scratch out of same material shafts as F1 cars and rated to 1000bhp.
I shall be sending this of tomorrow to have made and should be back in 4-5weeks... When hopefully the rest of the car will be ready to begin mapping.

Re: M4D RST Fiesta -Custom Shafts
It should be sufficant mate
Do it once and do it right. Im not risking all that power and speed and the shaft snapping so its the only option.
Just need to sort the ah ah ahah a ah ahh hubs out now.

Re: M4D RST Fiesta -Custom Shafts
I know mate the tune just gets stuck me in my head...
All sorted now i have the shafts being made and should be ready in 10-12 days.
i even managed to get a set of mk4 fiesta front hubs which have the abs sebsor holes to so i can fix the traction control sendors to those at a later point.
Taking those to be blasted tomorrow then lick of paint and new wheel bearings.
Been a stressful week sorting out those dam shafts though

F1 style shafts!

Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Glad you're all sorted there Luke - You said thanks to me in your post but I think I picked your brains to pieces too for Zetec-Turbo info too, so it was a fair trade-off!

Re: M4D RST Fiesta -Preveiw of the new dash..
yes its nylon fibres that are charged and due to static they stick to the surface fired on which is prepped in glue before hand.
You still keep the shape of panel and do not loose the lines etc.
Does feel like suede of fuzzzy felt

Re: M4D RST Fiesta -Preveiw of the new dash..
Well today lots of progress but unfortuanlty didnt get time to take the photos to document it..
Time is flying by now so i have to focus on getting it finished.
Just got home now after starting at half 7, Hydraulic pedal box is mounted and i started on the plumbing today.
Also housed the air filter in its new location which is in the inner wing this will keep the hot air well away and a cold feed will be directed from the front bumper into the enclosure.
All of the intercooler pipework is to be solid with just joiners at either end.

This one runs from the bottom of the intercooler along the front panel and then up to the turbo.
One of the wheel as i was leaving the unit tonight.
