what is the law on fitting left hand drive clusters to make your car either have two fogs or two reverse lights ?

after 1981 a car needs at least 1 fog lamp fitted to o/s or centre for mot purpose so if you fit 2 reverse will need a seperate fog for mot
or if you fit 2 fogs only the o/s needs to work for mot
reverse lights are not a testable item for mot purposes

reverse lights there is no mot law,not a testable item.fog lights have to be mounted on the drivers side or in middle at most.im using twin revers lights and mounting a universal fog under the car

a few people have the euro rs accessory lights. so they get rid of the reverse light and cuck a red bulb in the fog light bit so it shines red and then there's no probs. although come MOT id probably switch them back over as some may say the fogs not bright enough

car can have 2 fogs as long as there is atleast on on the O/s pair is not a prob...

only prob you will have i seeing where you are reversing at night by removing the reverss light.

ive had a left hand drive cluster on my car for nearly 10 years and ive always had a red bulb in one side (drivers side) and its always passed a MOT so if you too plan to go for 2 reverse lights have one of them with a red bulb and you wont have a problem.

i did make my own bulbs years agao so i could have 2 reverse lights and 2 fog lights but i never got round to fitting them
