leather :P
a m8 of mine, well long story short, his mum used to do car upholstery,, and taught him the trade as a hobby, pasing the skill on down the line as such, n she sadly passed away,, so i encouraged him to give it a shot on a pugly 206cc ,, blue,, so cream and blue leather interior, and it looks mint,, when hes finished the dash and stuff, itll look sorted,,
he said he wants to do mine next,, n im stunnted to what direction i should go,
do i go mk3 route,, with all interior including dash leathered,,
or do i go mk5 route with all interior inluding the dash
then it goes to what colour, i think white with red bits and black sticthing and piping, would look sorted,, but thinking white aint guna be nice to clean,,
so thought,, black on white bits,, with red stitching n piping,,
i duno, i was just gatheirn peoples oppinions firs, to get a basic understanding,,

Re: leather :P
i wouldnt have too much colour tbh mate, the cars red yeah, so i wouldnt have loads of red inside, wouldnt look right.
as for mixing colours, decide what colour schem you like and what would look good for you but take into account the colour of the car too.
me, i would look at blacks, creams greys, and something the same colour as the car, i.e red, but keeping the red to a min as it would over power anything else, so red piping and or stitching.
also, i would try to avoid light colours such as whites and creams in areas that can get dirty easy
i deffo wouldnt use white leather anywhere though as it will show dirt in no time, at least with a cream it doesnt show too much if at all when a little grubby

ok black with red bits, n white stitching and piping
think that would look nice ,, along with tints,, as the cars basicly red white and black now,, apart from coolant screenwash and oil, lol, black/red with white stichting seems the best one,

Re: leather :P
yeah thats the thing, i dont want it to bee "too in your facey" its guna be a big statment anyway,, so best to tone down the amount of colour used,, and with it being all made from scratch, it means i can make my own contours for the seats, and things,, im imagining,, like above, majority of it balack,, and like the center cushions, of the seats red,, and other little bits red that i can get away with,, and then to break it up, white stitching, and where contour lines are, would be white piping,, might even not use piping at al n just use the stitching,,
still bows down to the fact of seing its guna be unique,, mk5 interior,, or mk3?? and i mean the mk5 fitting, wont be the usuall cut and shut bodge job,, ill be having a complete new loom made up with the right conector to convert the relevent plug changes,,
im leaning towards the mk5, to be leathered up, and keep the mk3 interior like i have with everything else thats standard, so if the time ever did come to sell on, i could put it back to standard

hmm, i dunno about a complete seat base in red, its hard to picture it, but i think ive seen something like it before which looked alright.
i do like the mk4/5 dash conversion i have to say, but i also like the mk3 dash,
door card wise, mk5 win hands down

Re: leather :P
on the hunt for a mk5 dash as i always wanted one
then as the mk3 is abit square blck like,, i think itll really open up the inside as a new car
and i mean like,, for instance,, lets take the recarro, bolsters and hip suports,, black, the extended cusion under your legs black, ur arse cushion red,, the lower back cushion black,, with upper back cushion red,, so its only little areas that are being red,, everything else,, black,,
