Insurance Question
Someone at my girlfriends work is having an issue with her insurance. Basically she has tried to get a quote online with her current insurance company and once getting to a certain point it came up that they were unable to give her a quote and asked her to call a number. She did this and getting to the same point with the advisor she was told that she has made a claim within the last year. She hasn't actually made a claim but did make an enquiry about a claim due to her smacking a curb (she didn't claim as she'd get about £200 and her excess was £150 so not really worth the hassle). Now thing is this enquiry has been listed as a claim despite the fact that she didn't make one and is having an effect on her new policy prices etc. So my question is, is this allowed and how can she change what her record says?
I know insurance companies tend to be a law onto themselves but surely they cant get away with making up their own rules about what constitutes a claim.
Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Insurance Question
I had simular. Best bet is try over the phone again to explain the situiation then if no joy try a supervisor if still no joy ask for details of the claim and any relevant paper work ie Claim form and reciept ect in relation to this. This should then get them to sort it. Failing this ask them for their full name and ask for them to supply you with a contact Number for FSA. This should deffo get their but in gear. If still getting no joy go to FSA. Also you will need to write and send a letter to insura if matter is not solved on phone if its solved on phone ask for letter to be sent comfirming details.
