insurance grouping
hello again, thanks for all the responses on my previous thread. anyway, was browsing through top gear magazine (bare with me while i get to the point) and alongside all cars and engines etc they have their own insurance group rating. people on here or getting amazing quotes as first time drivers on cars like the fiesta Si and XR2i (grp 12-13?). the 1.6 Si is in grp8 unless they've updated it and fiesta zetec S also in grp8. cars like the vauxhall corsa 93-00 1.4 SRi is in grp 6 and the 1.6 GSi in grp8. typically, whats an estimated amount to be paying on these sort of cars with 1 years ncb 18yrs old. i know it depends on other things but can somebody give a rough aim to see what sort of ballpark the premium will be lying in.

tells you what group virtually every fiesta is in. The bit that amuses me:
1.4 Si - group 7
1.4 Carb. Ghia - group 8
1.6 Si - group 8

NICE! i'd much rather drive a zetec S or corsa gsi or an Si for a first car than having to wait a year. however, i can put ma name down as first on ma dads micra, as he wont care as he will pay insurance anyway, not drive it work up a year then go to something if premium is too high

when ive used confused.com for quotes they seem to like be triple what i get quoted when doing them on individual sites like tesco and direct line and churchill, those 3 were the cheapest for me
