the escorts not bad, doesnt have the appeal of the mk3 though

she just didnt stop at the junction and hit me in the side, i was pushed off the road and down into a huge ditch, was pretty nasty!

id like another mk3 but i would always compare it to my old one and id really struggle to find one i half as good condition, if i was going to get another it would have to be an si 16v. i not really got any interest in xr's or rs's anymore.

i spent over £2000 on the hcs engine and in the end i could still only just keep up with standard si's

At least it was an impressive crash!! :D could you not have kept the engine and stuff out of it?? £2000?? What did you do to it then?? And some1 pulled out in front of my mate when he had his first starlet gt turbo, that wrote both of the cars off!! I'm not too sure on proper si's. I think they look best in tourmallard green, also i like the front bumper with some kind of splitter on the bottom!! :)

sent it off to a company called specialized engines in london.
- bored out to 1.4
- enlarged ports on endura head as theyre made of alluminium
- head skimmed to increase compression
- adjustable fuel pressure regulator
- remap ( yes believe it or not you can remap a hcs engine )
- uprated cam
- fully balanced and lightened
- custom air intake using vauxhall corsa parts
- 421 exhaust manifold for a ka
- decat to custom exhausr using glass pack resonators

all that and i only got to 80 odd horsepower. i tried tuning the hcs because i kept getting told it couldnt be done.....guess everyone else was right lol if id done all that to my escort id be knocking on 150hp lol

80?? Aint them 1300 hcs's about 60 odd to start with?? I spose it was worth a try though, thats like an extra third so not too bad!! Did you not want to keep the engine after you spent so much on it?? my 1.1 is very slow but i like the reliability factor, and the fact that there is no cambelt to piss about with!! :)

they are very reliable engines if you treat them right, the car was taken to a police impound and no one was allowed to touch it. looking back i wish i had just swapped for a cvh engine, i would be at 90 right off the bat then. the hcs just does not respond to tuning at all lol

good laugh back in the day though i suppose

If i do an engine swap, thats what i will do i think!! Yeah i mean i have done an oil change and stuff on my engine and it seems ok!! I always have trouble with my exhaust blowing though, i think there should be another mount where the bend is tbh, but oh well!! So the old bill just scrapped yours in the end?? Thats a bit s**t!!
