Re: Hunting
I would like to shoot rabbits. I hate rabbits alive but I like eating them when they are dead. Don't have much in the way of aiming skills though, or a gun, or know where any rabbits live.

Re: Hunting
I did a spot whilst with the girlfriends parents in Oz! They own land out in Tingha so did some Roo shooting at dusk with some dirty big guns!
in the month i was there i think i did about 10 Roos dead and had to kill one with a piece of exhaust pipe off a bobcat after I hit it in the face with a shotgun at a wierd angle. So yeah i like hunting! lol, also I have 2 Borders and a couple of Ferrets myself for the odd spot of rabbitting!

Excursion :I shoot anything that moves
Im a bit like that, im a bit blood thirsty
rabbits, hares, squirrels, deer. you name it ive shot it
whats your fave weapon ? ive not shot a full bore rifle, tried a shotty and wasnt keen, my weapon of choice was my old air rifle, webley axsor carbine, matt black, walnut stock, black hole silencer and 4-12x56 simmons scope. running a very healthy 25lb/ft ( for all you in the know thats over twice the legal limit
sadly due to lending the rifle to someone, its no longer alive

I've had past experience with guns, not with hunting though.
I'd love to try hunting sometime.

Re: Hunting
Its not as barbaric as some people think, sure it can be if you wish it to be, but i never took a shot unless i was sure of a clean kill
I have pulled off some great shots, i missed a rabbit that was 15m away, swore loudly and it ran, quickly snicked the next round in the mag, and bam, a running headshot a 55 metres
Sadly not done it in a while, looking to buy another gun though and take it up again, but women and cars are draining all my resources

The stealth, thats the one with the bottle as the stock ? and it dismantles IIRC very nice and with a good FPS spread for an unregulated rifle
Yeah mines was a .22, considered a .25 but the extra grains were not needed for rabbits, would have been handy for deer though
Really want another axsor, but webley being defunct makes that very difficult

Re: Hunting
it sure is mate.
i bought it second hand, as its a mk1 stealth and in the uk they are limited to 12ftlbs, but being a stealth there are ways of upping the power if you so wish, i bought a part from a guy that has his shadow (basicly stealth with longer barrel) upto 60 ftlbs
and i could easily get the stealth to that as i know how the power is regulated on them, but of corse i wouldnt do such a thing as it would be against the law like

Re: Hunting
I like it mate
I wouldnt want to run that high a power on an air rifle, you would get about 5 shots and run out of air
I may nip over one time to meet you and go shooting if your up for it

Re: Hunting
yeah i dont mind mate, would have to find a good place to shoot though.
i i remember right, the guy thats got his up to 60ftlbs gets between 125 and 150 full power shots from a charge.
i can get about 400-450 full power shots from min
and yes, ive spent a who tin of pellets in a single session of shooting, not hunting, but basicly blasting the crap out of braches, plaster board, tins, glasses, old rattle cans etc

60 quids not bad for a return mate, gives me the option of driving over i hate flying, done it so much these past few years im usually asleep before takeoff
Ive never had a problem convincing farmers to let me hunt on their ground, the most its ever cost me is a bottle of whiskey, and we used to take 120-180 rabbits outta that place every weekend for a month or 2, then things started to go a little quiet

I used to love shooting squirrels, i hate those bloody grey american scum
i do have a nice little scar on my hand where i shot one, it feel out of the tree with a thud, i went to pick it up and the fucker was alive
it bit into the back of my finger and wouldnt let go, so i punched it in the head and that killed it

Re: Hunting
dont get a logun, he takes a standard rifle like the rapid 7, then dismantles it, adds his own custom stock, inferior trigger mech and APR.
not the way to go.
I was looking at the FX2000, its basically the axsor, but a bit more refined with an inbuilt pressure gauge.
might just get one on credit

Re: Hunting
the S16 is a take down rifle like the stelth mate not the half job as you said about, but, they are problamatic so ive been told.
only reason i was thinking of it was due to the 16 shot mag.
in all fairness, i would love a skan but there very expensive

Re: Hunting
are you set on a takedown rifle ?
as for the 16 shot mag its just a gimmik, mine had an 8 shot, and took me a while to use all 8 shots

no not at all mate.
tbh i really like the B&M apache, im sure thats what it was called, which was a er,i think air arms gun with a B&M stock making it into a bullpup type stock, was very nice, but again expensive, but i dont think they do them anymore.
but the skan is a very nice gun mate, just i havent really looked into buying another for a long time as i dont really get much chance on using the one i got
