OK, So you like what 'we' do and you want to get started modifying cars, changing the colour of your mums hair or virtually decorating your room? Its all the same!
1st, You need to 'get yourself' a copy of photoshop. Version CS2 being the newest (version 9 basicly, CS is v8 if you like). Dont discuss here where to get it = The answer is a shop, PM me for other methods, ebay etc.
2nd, Look at tutorial websites. Best car one is http://www.digimods.co.uk/ People WILL post others in this topic for general photoshop and cars.
Basicly, You have to just keep practicing. You wont think your getting anywhere. But you are. Work on simple things, make them look realistic and you will get there in the end.
Any questions, Ask here as its better if all of the questions are in one place for future reference!
HAPPY PHOTOSHOPPING

Don't pay for it. Thats all I am going to say.
CS - $700+
Verson 7 - around $600+
Version 6 - around $400+
CS is the hardest to use, but has more features, would recommend it to anyone who knows how to use Photoshop 7
&7 is the best, has all the things you need to make award winning images.

No mate, not at all, but I've trimmed out one or two "suggestion" posts for finding software recently and since photoshop is a prime candidate for copying (as it's horrendously expensive) I figured I'd better make it clear that trading software is very naughty and can put the site (and Ade) in a spot of bother if people start posting links to p2p sites and search systems (or make outright offers to copy software for people).
Nothing to worry about, I'm not going to hit you with the banhammer lol

As it says before that the trading of software ilegally is against forum rules.
So i just thought i would say to stay away from using programs like u-torrent and piratebay's website.
Of course if you were to do something like this, you would want peer gaurdian 2 to protect your ip from anyone trying to track your internet activity.
< of course i mean by this, hackers which could be harmful to your computer.
Also if you where to try to download a torrent from piratebays website, i hope everyone would be smart enough to check comments and download numbers to confirm that the torrent is legit.
I just hope everyones smart enough not to do this ^ as it's against the law and could potentially lead to jail.
About their is about a 1 in a billion chance, but it's still a risk considering theirs six billion people on the plannet and that means six people going to jail.
Hope everything above helps people avoid using ilegally obtained software.
