headunit keeps cuttin out
ive got a kenwood headunit and 2 6x9s, 2 infinity door speakers runnin off that with an amp and sub connected also. It has worked fine for the whole time ive had it but now the headunit keeps cuttin out.
i thought it may have been because ive got the music up too loud, but it cuts out when its quiet aswell
i thought it may have been due to overheating, but its even worse when its cold whereas it used to play fine in the cold.
I think it mite be something to do with the headunit not having enough power so i connected a 15amp wire from the battery to the red and yellow wires in the back of the head unit enabling me now to play the headunit without the ignition on.
ive been to halfords and theyve tested the headunit out and it seems to work ok.
to get it working i have to disconnect all the wires and then reconnect them. when it cuts out, everything cuts out except the bass (therefore the amp and sub work ok) and then everythin cuts off meanin i cant turn it back on
sorry about the long post but its quite a complicated one im afraid and hope theres sum1 tht knows a bit more than me. it might be because i need more amps to power the 4 speakers, but its always worked before!!

As said on your othr thread this reaks of crappy bullet and butt connectors. I'd almost put money on it being on the ignition live side of things.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
