Has anybody actually had their FRST steering wheel recovered
Seeing as there are no new ones around I was wondering if anybody has had their wheel recovered ?
I've got to do something about the wheel and gear nob on my Concours project.

Sean I've had a few painted in the past but compared to my brand new ones, it never achieves the same colour nor exact fresh grained leather look.
There's a place near me that re leathers all that stuff or there's Royal Steering wheels aswell.
The problem you face is that to get an exact colour or near as bang on you will have to compare the leather in stock to new items for exact matches.
If they don't have the exact colour in stock then they have to buy in a whole hide ( up to £300).
Or just settle for the wheel and knob to be near enough the same colour as original, ( if the company has a remnant)...this will be cheaper and the same colour against themselves.

Cheers Ed,
I have got 3 gear nobs that need re covering and a couple of steering wheels,
I have got a b/n gear nob that I could send off so they can match it, the only thing I'm worried about is if it gets lost
I'll make some calls and see what I can sort.

Royal Steering Wheels did a gear knob for my MX'5 and it came back looking great!
Could be worth a try, it will always sell if its not quote good enough for concours.

Still searching for a workshop to actually make a start on the strip down Matt.
I have a place lined up which is 2 minutes away from my house, hopefully within the next month I'll have some news on that.
I have a huge amount of genuine new parts now, I'll update my thread tonight.
