Grrr, problems with Media Player.

Righto, now this dosn't happen very often, but i am having to ask help about PC's.
I installed a beta version of windows media player 9...yes i know.
It fecked up and now i can't get rid...or reinstall media player 8 from the XP cd...cos it aint a stand alone EXE that u can just click on.
There is no option in the REMOVE PROGRAMS thing in the control panel, and everytime i try and put the media player folder in the trash, its says its being used by another program or process...which i had a feeling it would do anyways.
Any ideas?

have u tryed rebooting and try and deleting it then m8 some times XP dont see u aint using the program untill u reboot...
if that dont work then format time
