Gift ideas

Postby Ruishy1 on Wed Nov 19, 2008 10:29 pm

Righty, im on here because im drawing a blank on crimbo pressies for the other half, and due to not getting near a shopping centre etc ( working away) all my ideas are online, and tbh kinda rubbish

I was gonna spend 200-250 on her, but tbh i dont really care what it costs, just want her to like it, was looking at spa days, but they are all too far away, and kinda s**t !
she has more shoes, dresses, makeup etc than should be legal, so thats a no go.
Im well and truely stumped this year

Anyone have any ideas ?
and this is a serious post, so no inane ideas and comments please.

book her a hair appointment or massage with a huge bunch of flowers waiting there for her, then take her out for a meal afterwards. :)

Ugg boots will always go down well...

If she has loads of shoes and clothes etc then you know she is going to like it...

Take her shopping in the Jan sales...

OR... book a quiet weekend away... if she has loads of stuff already then do something romanitc...

I love some of the places on http://www.sykescottages.co.uk

Thats my idea... :)

I was gonna suggest booking a nice hotel for a weekend or something, choose one with a nice spa and book her a massage as well. Or try centre parcs :D

i was gonna get her ugg boots funnily enough, and casually mentioned them one day, and she just thinks they are a waste of money, foe something she will hardly wear

As for the romatic gestures get aways etc. i do that kinda stuff throughout the year anyway, i wanted to get her gifts, something tangible to remember that day everytime she looks at them/it :)

aye  then tell her your doing her sister and the gifts for her your now giving to her sister

na all jokes aside mate it is a differcult one, woman are so fussy it makes for getting them gifts a fcuking nightmare!
even if you get something they want, is it the right colour, the right size, the right brand, did you get it at the place that was £5 off meaning you could of spent another fiver on her and more important, did you use the club card to get the points

what she do as a hobby mate? if she needs something for thet then theres your answer, if she rides horses, get there a new helmet, or boots or what ever, if she likes shooting buy her a gun, if she likes swinging, er, buy her a swing

what i normaly do, and tbh i havent done it this year becuase i cant be bgothered and im not really into the christmas thing yet, is speak to her mum and her sister, find out what sort of things there getting her, comapir it to whats shes told me or whats on the list she gives me and then go and buy something completely different  and im not joking, i tend to like to buy her things that shes not expecting, other wise its like "oh wow, cheers jay ive really wanted one of them" when you know they mean, "cool, thats one thing off my list i dont have to buy, what else on my list has he got me and how long can i keep up the shocked look"

mind you i guess thats better than the "wow, cheers jay" but with a look of WTF is this bag of $hit
the joys of christmas...

thats some sound advice mate, but she doesnt have a sister, and i know her better than her mum does, and im not lying
I usually manage to get her something she wants, but hasnt really though about so its been a surprise, but being away from home, and no access to a good shopping mall etc has made it very difficult, you just dont get the same instincts with online

She doesnt really have hobbies as such, just the typical music, shoes, clothes etc that women like, but she has more of that crap than should be allowed, i bought her a pair of 180 quid boots last year, she has had them on twice

She is gonna get a meal and maccie'D's and taken out to the middle of nowhere and told to "'conquering device' it or walk it"
That would be some crimbo present

I should hope you do, as i wouldn't expect her mum to know what her insides feel like
